Chamberlain College- Sacramento

Nursing Students Chamberlain College

Published

I just got accepted to the new Sacramento campus for May 2, anyone else attending for the same start date?

Thank you so much for your response! I'd love to get it down to at least 60 since I already have land from my prior undergrad. Are admissions competitive?

Anyone hoping to be accepted for Jan 2017?

Admissions committee meets today and I am a nervous wreck!

I wouldn't let your guard down and think it isn't compatible since it's not your usual nursing program. You should always assume everything is competitive, and it is. They only accept 30 seats I believe.

I just wonder how does it work when they accept high school grads compared to students who already have college experience to transfer. Why can't they accept one cohort for those and another for the college students who's been trying to get into nursing the past semesters. Admissions advisor never really explained that. We're all going to enter in different levels.

And thank you! What degree do you have?

Really? Only 30. I wonder how many start dates they have per year. That would help if they admit several times a year.

You're right I think they should have separate admissions. Or maybe everyone is considered equally regardless of their background? That would be fair I think.

I have a liberal arts Bachelor. Do you have any other prior degree or other units?

No bachelors, just an associates in science. Liberal arts, what an accomplishment :) I'm hoping all my units will transfer.

I believe there are three times of the year for admissions

That's awesome! I hope they are able to transfer as well! Wouldn't it be great to just be able to start school and begin nursing career already lol. Did you do any science type prerequisites?

Yes, anatomy and physiology, microbiology, chem, nutrition, statistics, psychologies, sociologies, critical thinking etc

I know! It can be frustrating to have to way 1-5 years to finally get accepted into a program. And by that time, some people have to update their science prerequisites depending on the school. People say there is a nursing shortage but doesn't seem like it here haha :roflmao:

That's great! I'm still working on my science prerequisites. Hopefully, I can get them done and save some time and money!

I know right! I'm not sure if the nursing shortage is real lol at least they don't act like it is.

Best of luck to you! They're the kinds of classes you can relate to other students more since we're all headed in similar professions. Can't wait until you get in someday soon :) great chatting with you
