Chamberlain College of Nursing Houston Spring 2019

Published

Hi everyone, I am starting this forum to see if there is anyone else out there applying or has been accepted into Chamberlain. I initially applied to UT School of Nursing & as of now I'm not sure if I'll be accepted. But, since I'm so anxious to start nursing after being out of high school for 8 years I honestly don't want to wait any longer. There are advantages to Chamberlain for one it is close to home. I took my Hesi back in May I got a 92 I have a 3.8 GPA. Honestly for me I don't want to get an Associates in nursing and that's why I'm now looking at chamberlain. So far I have completed a lot of the pre requisites so I'll only need nursing classes. I don't want to take more courses or the TEAS to apply at another school so I'm going to try my luck here.

Hello All,

I also got accepted to Chamberlain Houston Campus for Spring 2019 semester. For those who are wondering if Chamberlain is a good or legit school, the only thing that sets this school apart from UT and TWU is that Chamberlain is for-profit, hence, it'll be more expensive than the counterparts. My advice to anyone considering Chamberlain is to complete all pre-regs at a local community college before applying to Chamberlain, it will save you tons of money. I did exactly that and got all my credits transferred except for Chemistry as it's been over 10-years since I took it. My aunt graduated from the school last year and she got a job right away and she also stated that many of her classmates had job offers waiting for them upon graduating. So, if you think the school is a scam or not legit, you're only holding yourself back for another year waiting for public universities to 'consider' you for admission when the rest of us are already graduating. I would like to connect with those who will be starting the spring semester. Is there a Facebook page or something or a page where we can get to know ourselves. One of the advisers told me that the orientation will be in Dec 12th. Does anyone know about this?

I also finished all my non-nursing classes and got them out of the way, so when I start Chamberlain next semester, I won't have to do them. It's smart to do that, so you're not paying tons of money for classes that you're able to take a community college. I don't think that there's a facebook page, but I am able to make one if anyone else is interested? I take my HESI this Friday, but since I already took it once, I'm positive that I'm going to do well again. I did not know that orientation was on Dec 12th, but thank you for letting me know!

Hi! If you don't mind me asking, what day/time did you receive a acceptance call/email from Chamberlian?

Hello all ! I had an advising appointment today and they went over the entire program. The advising appointment was very informative. I was able to transfer over 53 credits. They didn't take my nutrition class though. Highly recommended you take these classes at HCC before because you will be saving more money in the long run. I take my hesi next Friday, and it's not guaranteed whether or not they will have space for spring. If they don't I will reapply to other nursing schools in the Houston area.

Yeahhh. I heard that they're really close to the maximum of students that they're able to accept. I hope it all works out well & that you're able to start in the spring!

I applied on August 24th and was originally scheduled to take my Hesi on the 29th of August but I ended up taking it on Friday, October 19th and scored 89% composite. I got a call/accepted on the 26th of October (exactly a week later). After I got the call, I later received some document to sign via email on that same day. I also did my background check/fingerprinting/drug test on that same day. I did my curriculum evaluation and my schedule the following week.

Have been trying to apply to Chamberlin. About 3 weeks ago I spoke with a rep over the phone, sent her my transcripts like she asked and never heard back from her. I emailed a week later and still nothing. Anyone have a problem with them not contacting you back??
