Chamberlain College of Nursing Houston Campus Fall 2015

Published

Hello everyone,

I have a huge question and really need some input from those who were accepted into the BSN program recently.

I took the HESI exam today and talked to my advisor afterwards finishing up the application process...now the waiting begins.

The admission committee meets Friday, but my advisor said that she can't get my documents ready in time for it so I'll have to be reviewed for the next sitting in two weeks. The downside of all this is I have a flight overseas (which was booked 5 months ago) for medical and family purposes that require me to be there for 2 months and won't be back till mid-August. Although if I get accepted I'll return to the states asap and want finish everything within a week, then go back and stay in Europe up until classes start. But I need a ETA. How long did paperwork; transcript evaluation; financial aid; class registration; background check; and fingerprinting take? Are these things achievable in a week or so? Or would I have to be here the whole summer to complete them?

From your experience how long did it take you to complete this process? I asked my advisor but her answer for anything involving dates and deadlines is "I don't have an exact date."

Help! Please!

Paper work financial aid was done in one day for me, that same day I received my drug test papers you have 48 hours to go take that. The drug test and background came back in a week. They have a orientation that you have to attend that once everything comes back that lasts a few hours mine is on August 27th. I live two hours away so they only made me come down that one time, and if you fill out your Fasfa and make a new promissory agreement for student loans beforehand it cuts down on the time. So overall once they process your transcripts and hesi score and deem you eligible make that one trip to meet with financial aid and get your drug and background stuff you're good to go until your orientation date.

Hi, there. Your thread has been moved to our Chamberlain College forum where it is more likely to be seen by other Chamberlain College students. Good luck!

As you know I'm going through this right now. It's been over a 6 weeks I hope to hear something this week. Just waiting for the committee to review.

Whitney- hopefully I will get to be at orientation with you.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience! It sounds like everything processed really quickly woth you. Then it's basically a one to two day thing. Gosh I really wish they would review my application on Friday! That would make everything so less complicated on my end. I wonder if I would have any luck going to the campus and try to get my application in for Friday.

JacAn001 hopefully this time they'll actually meet and make a decision.

According to your advisor what was the hold up on sending your information to the committee for Friday?

What campus are you working with? I'm at Jacksonville.

I'm in Houston. She said that she had to enter in my HESI scores and transcripts-nothing that would take long in my opinion, but honestly I don't know.

I applied for the fall cohort in Houston as well. if you don't mind me asking, what was your GPA and HESI score? Did you end up getting in?

Hey I applied to the Houston campus also. I met the minimum requirements including the HESI score. Committee is supposed to be meeting on the 24th, this Friday. How long did they take to reply back to you??

Many people get a call the afternoon of the committee meeting.
