Chamberlain College of Nursing Fall 2018 - Atlanta Campus

Nursing Students Chamberlain College

Published

Hey! I just wanted to make a discussion board for anyone who may be applying to Chamberlain College of Nursing for the Fall 2018 semester. I haven't applied yet but plan to after May! I have a 3.14 GPA and haven't taken the HESI yet. I am also wondering if anyone knows any Chamberlain University student that graduated in under two years or two years exactly? I have all of my pre-reqs completed and I am just hoping they all transfer!

Hey Everyone! I've been reading/researching about Chamberlain. I'm currently a teacher, so I'm hoping that I will be able to start nursing school next summer. I'm still trying to figure out how I'm going to make all of this work because I will need to find another job. Does anyone have any advice for someone just getting started in the process? I'm hoping I'll be able to attend the information session in September to get more information.

I'm going aug 29th and start clinicals in March as well :D!

Are you in the FB page? I'm on campus Monday and Wednesday this session. We should meet up if your schedule is the same! I am excited to be starting real nursing classes soon!

I graduate this September 22 and it's taken me two years and one session to finish. I transferred almost all prerequisites except History and Ethics, so I took those with Chamberlain. I think this saved a huge amount of money as the classes were a lot cheaper at Georgia Highlands.

Chamberlain is a fast paced school so it is best to find a job that is more flexible and will work with you and not the other way around. Being that you have a teaching degree though, don't meant to discourage you, but I would also apply to accelerates bsn programs in your area to help lower the cost of school. If chamberlain is your top choice, I suggest finishing all your prerequisites at a community college and then applying to chamberlain that easy you save money and start taking nursing classes immediately

Yep I'm on the fb page! The one on this forum I created. My name is Kimberly. I won't have Monday and Wednesday classes until October. What classes are you taking right now?

im not starting until Spring or Summer 2019 or I would join :( pending passing the HESI...Sigh Anyone got some solid tips to narrow my studying in the A&P section? I don't want to waste time on details so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey! I have been at Chamberlain for a year now and I did all of my pre-reqs at nearby schools in ATL and they took all of them no problem. I started in May 2017 last year and my expected grad date is Aug of 2019. Everybody graduates within 2 years and 4 months.

Hello. How many classes are you taking every 8 weeks? And how it works exactly?
I am looking at Chamberlian... Thank you

I have not taken more than two classes at a time my entire time here. But I also took prerequisites already somewhere else.

Thank you for your response. I took all my prerequisite as well.

I have 66 more credits to do (according to my transcript evaluation)

How long is it going to take to finish the program? How do you like the two classes at a time, intense?

Thank you.

It should take you two years. I don’t personally find it hard but others may disagree. I think if you have ever taken a Summer class and did well, then these classes will be fine. I have never made anything lower than an 89 over all grade. I simply bought a planner, read the book ahead of class, listen in class, go home and reread the material then read ahead again before the next class. The only semester that was intense was medsurg and pharmacology together. But again, I still managed to make 90 and above. Those classes were so intense that they have already separated those classes by the time you get there. Since that was done, and assuming you have a good work ethic, it should be a breeze. ? words of encouragement. Let me know if you have any more questions.

Awe, thank you so much. I’m glad to hear.
I will need to learn from you on making a good planner.

Because the outbreak, you probably taking classes online. How do you like it?

I have heard many good things about school. I cannot wait to start this May. ?

So simple! Buy a very cute one that is pleasing to your eye to help you stay consistent with writing in it :). With the syllabus in front of you, map out exactly when you want to do your reading and your assignments. Make it your mission to cross those things off the planner. If something happens that keeps you from completing a task of the day, write next to it what is was that held you back to help ease your anxiety and guilt about not getting it done as planned. (Side note: it would also help you visualize what you do through out your day that should possibly be eliminated to prioritize your studies.)

I love the online class because when you actually read the book, going to class becomes less essential and more supplemental. Which is major key in my opinion. Since we are online, I get more sleep, can be more relaxed with my planner and actually eat breakfast ?. When you come in May, we will still be online until the end of June.

I will be honest and say chamberlain of atl is not as fun as the other schools, the campus is under construction, we sometimes have flooding and sometimes it is very hard to reach someone and address issues. BUT it does no good to complain, just pay attention, do your work, graduate and feel awesome about it. ? Don’t want to make you feel unwelcome just being honest about our “issues”. I hope you do well and enjoy your time at chamberlain. You gotta make the best of it.
