Chamberlain College of Nursing - Addison

Hi all!
Well...I got the call from my counselor today and i'm IN!! I am sooo excited to start in October at the Addison campus! I thought all hope was lost because it had been 5 weeks since I applied and I hadn't heard anything, but I was so excited when I got the call this morning!!! Anyone else starting in Oct @ Addison campus? Not only am I looking forward to the nursing school part, but I am also looking forward to making new nursing friends too :)
Good luck to anyone who is still waiting on a decision...and let me know if anyone else has recently gotten in!!

what was your gpa if you dont mind me asking :smokin: im worried about that part,,, :cool:

You're welcome. That sounds good. Do your best to raise your gpa some and there is no doubt that you will get in once that is done. And you will probably do better in your nursing classes when you start because you won't have the extra stress of general ed classes. And if you work, you will be able to squeeze in a couple of work days If you have to. This is already an accelerated program. We all need to do what's best to set ourselves up for success even if it means we have to wait 1 or 2 semesters. I was going to apply for the summer start, but I decided to take another gen ed class over the summer and work and save some money for school. I believe that set me up for success because now I don't have to take as many student loans out, so less debt, and I knocked another class out of the way.

thank you. what i am going to do this semester is retake some classes i bombed back in the day which should give me a huge bump in gpa since my school replaces old grades with the newer ones when you retake a class

No worries! I had a 3.2 gpa

I'm IN too!!!! I am super excited to be on my way to becoming a :nurse:

I will also start in October as long as everything else goes smoothly..aka financial etc. Is anyone else, who will start in October, be taking majority of their gen ed's in addition to our nursing courses?

Congratulations! Even though I only have 1 child, I understand your struggles. Which campus are you going to?

Going the Addison campus :) Super excited going to meet with financial aid on Monday hopefully everything goes well I just won't be able to relax until I finally register for classes and it's real. :)

Yea I'm stuck taking everything too...I previously had my transcripts evaluated and only one class transferred in from Rasmussen But not letting it bother me...maybe we will have some classes to together...I'm going to the Addison campus...how about you?

I also got an 88% on the Hesi. I have a 3.0 gpa. I'm still waiting. I was supposed to find out a week ago but my counselor said there was a delay on my app for some reason. But I will find out on the 22nd.

When my counselor told me I got in she said she would call me back to set up and appt time, but I haven't heard from her yet. I have called and emailed multiple times but haven't heard anything. I'm getting a little nervous.

Hmmm that's kind of strange are you sure she's not on vacation? Or maybe she doesn't work there anymore. I know they are usually good about getting back to you right away when you call with questions. Maybe you should call and let someone know you have been unable to reach her and ask if someone else can assist you. Think positive I know it's busy over there :)

Well met with financial aid and everything seems ok...still going to look into some scholarships if possible....New Student Orientation is October 13th...it would be nice to meet some of you there :) LOL that didn't sound creepy did it LOL :)
