Anyone know anything about this place?
hi i am interested in applying to chamberlain at either the addison or chicago campus. my gpa is 3.1 and havent' taken hesi yet. sorta nervous. also for the addison location who would be a good advisor any suggestions?? i've called several times and can't seem to get a hold of anybody or any information. i am thinking of just maybe stopping in sometime next week. i have read on these blogs many advisors names but just wondering who everybody has seen and whom they would recommend as someone really helpful. thank you! also what do we need to get on the hesi to even be considered? anybody that was admitted with a low gpa of 3.1 like me??
my advisor is (moderator edit of name - please do not post names of individuals in your program per terms of service) at the addison campus. i have been contacting him through email and he usually responds the same day. i would try emailing rather than calling. i know right now its always really packed in the office. i went a couple of times just to drop off stuff and there were students everywhere. on the hesi you have to score a minimum of 75, but the higher your score the better your chances. your gpa is above the requirement of 2.75. i would just start studying for the hesi before you go and take it. getting a higher score on your hesi will help.
i just wanted to thank all of you who have posted in this thread. at times when i was unclear about something or needed reassurance, i would always go to this site and read all of your input and experiences about chamberlain in addison. i just got the call this morning from (moderator edit of name - please do not post names of individuals in your program per terms of service) ( who is probably the best counselor ever ) saying that i got accepted into the fall semester. i took the test july 6 so it took a little more than a week for the results. during that time (moderator edit of name - please do not post names of individuals in your program per terms of service) sent me my unofficial then finally my official transcript via email. honestly, the hesi a2 exam was really easy compared to the teas and kaplan test. they only look at math, reading, english, and vocabulary. the first time i ended up with a 77% so a week later i took it again and scored an 89%. keep in mind that there is no time limit and you can take the test in any order you want. so take the important ones first and leave the science for later. math is real basic with conversions, ratios, proportions, and with word problems but they're really easy. plus, study vocabulary but there was some words that i didn't know but majority of the time the words given in the book is in the test. english is really basic but just make sure you read the difference between their/there/they're and stuff like that so you won't get confused. i got a 3.2 gpa from a community college and scored an 89%. my theory, is that if you have a 3.0 or higher and a really high hesi score you should be able to get in but if you have lower than a 3.0 i suggest getting a high score like 85 or higher. i hope that this will help all of you! i hope to see you guys in the fall at chamberlain :clpty:

congrats on getting in!! (moderator edit of name - please do not post names of individuals in your program per terms of service) is my advisor too. i'm waiting to hear if i'm accepted or not for fall. he sent me a copy of what credits still transfer but they were still reviewing two more classes since i have been to two different colleges. i scored an 87% on my hesi the first time i tested and my gpa is a 3.7 so i am crossing my fingers and toes hoping i get in lol. now i'm going to be more anxious waiting for a call!! i hope to see you in the fall!

that is awesome congrats!!!
we actually took the hesi the same day..i, unfortunately, am still waiting to hear back regarding acceptance. i hope to hear something soon though!!
hi all!
so glad i found this website...it eases my nerves a little bit about chamberlain. i applied for the october session and am still waiting on a decision. i know that some people found out last friday, but i have still yet to find out. i applied pretty early...(originally i was going to apply for the july session, but then i decided to wait to get my spring grades). my counselor is (moderator edit of name - please do not post names of individuals in your program per terms of service) and i have been bugging her like crazy since i have been so nervous. the thing that worries me is i thought my applications was going to be one of the first ones to be looked at since my counselor put my file on the desk the day they started accepting. does anyone know how often the admission committee meets? i was thinking maybe once a week and then they let people know on fridays, but i am not sure...this is just what i figured from some people's posts. also...does anyone know how many they accept total for the fall class? anyone else have (moderator edit of name - please do not post names of individuals in your program per terms of service) as their adviser? i am just so anxious and hoping i get a call sometime soon! is it true that if you get in they call you and then send you a letter? what if you don't get in....do they call? :-/ ahh just so nervous and anxious but really hoping i get in!!
if anyone could help me with answering some of these questions that would be great!
thanks so much and good luck to everyone :)
So....I got a call from my advisor today saying, "I AM ACCEPTED!!!!!"
I am sooooo excited!!! He told me that he was going to send me a packet in the mail and would call me within the next week to schedule an appt with him and take the drug test. He said as long as I pass the background and drug test I am good to go (which I know I will pass both since i have no criminal/crazy background and I am drug free!!) I am so happy and relieved that I finally get to start the program. Oh and also the are transferring 33 of my credits!! I think they have to reevaluate some things on there because last minute they asked me to send some syllabus from another class so maybe I'll get a few more credits transferred.
Oh yea, I applied for the Fall semester and I took the HESI test on 7/2 and left my application that day for my advisor. He had told me it can take up to 6 weeks for you to hear anything from the school. I'm not sure how often they look at applications or how many they let in the program per semester but I'm sure more people will be getting their calls soon. Good luck to everyone!
i applied to the chicago campus the end of may. i took my hesi on june 22 and got an 88%. they just received my transcripts tuesday so technically my application is just now complete, but my advisor (moderator edit of name - please do not post names of individuals in your program per terms of service) called today saying that the committee is meeting on july 25th and again august 8th so the latest i will find out is the 9th. hope that helps. and i pray we all get accepted.

do you know if it is the same committee that meets for the addison and chicago campus? i am getting so anxious i don't want to wait that long lol!
thanks!
The addison campus is very busy, we have over 300 students in our program! so the whole chamberlain team is working to get everyone where they need to be and ready for clinicals and graduation. i hope u all choose the addison campus b/c we have been cranking out grads every semester with no issues and our campus is recognized as an illinois acc. school while the chicago campus is still not on the US Dep. of Education. good luck to u all! =]
