I just signed up for Chamberlain College online rn-bsn today! Thank God I read your post! What a huge miscalculation on my part! $27,000! That's less than what I paid for my diploma. No way. I'm withdrawing my application first thing tomorrow. What a huge mistake. There are other schools out there that are way cheaper. Right now I can't even find a job this economy and now I'm going to add more debt to what I already have? No way. Thanks for the reality slap. I mean you can do it if you want to. They make things super easy for you, but almost $30, 000? Trust me, I've found schools that were less than half the price of Chamberlain. Good Luck.

Hi I just read your reply, do you have any other info pertaining to online BSN classes? Like cost? What the course all requires? Clinicals? etc...

Thank you for any info you can supply

I've done a lot of research on RN-BSN programs and this is the deal: If you want to a RN-BSN program that you can finish quickly, it's going to cost you a lot more money. However, if you want to pay less, it will take you a much longer time to complete the program. Just google RN-BSN programs and see which ones really suit all your needs. There is nothing wrong with Chamberlain. I think it's a great program, but I'm in waaaay too much debt already. I would do the program in a heartbeat if I had no debts.

hi

I just graduated with my BSN from Chaimberlain. I was an ADN RN and had taken various collage credit cources pertaining to nuring from a junior collage in TX. Chaimberlain took almost all (except 2) of my previous credits and I had like 7 classes left to get my BSN.

Chaimberlaihn is pricey, but before you rush to withdraw any of your applications, please talk to the people at finace and academic advising. They will let you know jus how many of your credits will transfer, and how much you will need to pay for the program.

The classes are 8 weeks long, very reasonable as far as work load/assigments. there are no clinicals, that was a plus for me and if you are full time, you can graduate in less than 18 months.

Call them, at least do that. I was once enrolled in a regular BSN State Uni with an online option, and it was horrible. the teacher made everything harder than necessary, plus when i moved out of that state, the burden of finding a hospital and arranging a contract with that hospital and the school just so i could do my clinicals was just too much for me.

E mail me if you have any que:wink2:

there is a way you can beat the chamberlain program but you need to give up some of your time to studying. if you take between 12-17 credits then you charged $6900 per semester. each semester is divided into two sessions. the minimum credit you need to graduate with them is 32 credits. if you take the full time status and you only need 32 credits you can complete the program in 8months and it would cost around $14000. additional fees include mandatory registration fees per session $75.00 * 4 sessions = $300. electronic book for general electives if needed cost $80 per course. the minimum classes you take with them is 10classes. so if you need 14 classes, take 4 classes at the local community college and transfer to them so you can save money.

I am currently enrolled with chamberlain for similar reasons like yours. I was enrolled in a regular bsn program which I already completed two classes. The minimum credits that I needed to take in order to graduate is the same as chamberlain - 32 credits. The program wasn't flexible and I had to be there one day a week for some of the classes. Finding a job in my state has been impossible and I may have to move out of state, that is why I signed up with chamberlain who took all my credits but because of the 32 credits I had to take 4 electives to meet that requirement since I only need 6nursing classes with them. I almost didn't sign up because of the cost but I soon realized that the cost would be same as my former program if I took it full time and I would finish in

8months instead of 18months with my original program. So far, I am loving every bit of it.

When did you start the BSN at Chamberlain? Are you doing it on-line? Thank you for any info you can give me!

I started the program on oct26th which the first half of the semester. I am currently taking two of the nursing classes. For the B session I am taking 2 nursing classes and an elective class. Fall semester is from october26th - feburary 28th. A session is oct26th - December 20th. B session is january 4th- feburary 28th. The admission counselors are very good in helping you with taking classes as far as easy, medium and heavy class combinations. It is a completely online program and what I like the most is that every class is offered every session and every semester which wasn't the case with my original program.

Are you taking these online?

Thank you,

Rhonda
