Hmm, looks like less prior credits (82 in old plan, 77 in new one). It also looks like Political Science is now a requirement instead of History. They also dropped the requirement for Economics. Lucky! I have to take Econ next semester until the old plan. I was fortunate that I had already fulfilled the humanities credits at another school, as well as Statistics. I was able to transfer in 96 credits, so I only needed 10 classes to graduate. Technically, I only needed 8 classes, but I had to fulfill the electives requirement at the 300 level or above. I'll be done in October :D

Wow! Thanks for this post. Its alot different and I was taking classes just to transfer.

I am in the same boat as you are! I also transferred in 96 credits and need only 9 classes to graduate.

I begin my RN to BSN classes the end of Feb. I'll be done in October too!!! What classes are you signed up for ??? I am taking 3 classes this time. Would love to chat with you.

So do you think the new plan is better?

Like I said above, I'm taking classes just to transfer so when I read this post, I went to the computer lab to chat using their website. The representative said this curriculum is more well rounded for students. Maybe not enough students were passing

I just started in Jan as an RN-to-BSN student. Current (Jan) session, I'm in NR 351 Intro to Professional Nursing and SOSC 350 Cultural Diversity (elective). Next session (Mar), I'm taking NR 305 RN Health Assessment and ECON 312 Economics (elective). The May session will have my final required elective and then I'll have all nursing courses until I graduate in October. I work full time night shift at the hospital and taking 2 courses this semester was very do-able. Caveat: my kids are grown up (or nearly grown, one 17 year old left), so I don't have as many obligations for activities as I would have in the past when they were younger.

Here are all the courses I need to take to graduate:

NR 351 - Transition to Professional Nursing

SOSC 350 - Cultural Diversity (elective)

NR 305 - Health Assessment

ECON 312 - Principles of Economics (elective)

NR 361 - Information Systems for Healthcare

NR 391 - Cultural Diversity in Nursing (elective)

NR 439 - Evidence-based Practice

NR 443 - Community Health Nursing

NR 447 - Collaborative Healthcare

NR 451 - Capstone

Which electives did you take?

The 3 electives I was required to take were SOCS 350 Cultural Diversity, ECON 312 Economics and NR 391 Diversity in the Nursing Profession (a 2-credit elective). I had to take the NR 391 course because I needed 8 elective credits and SOSC/ECON would only be 7 credits. Needed the 2-credit course to get the required number of non-nursing electives.

When I was in nursing school, I had been taking courses that would apply for the BSN and later, MSN (for AG-ACNP) during the summers between semesters, so I had already done Stats, Organic Chem, Pathophysiology, etc.

That was smart. I was just curious. A representative told me its not wise to transfer in all the liberal arts and sciences so you would remain full time status but I'm gonna try. Today at open house I'm going to try to find out what history and humanities elective they want

Do you need full time status for a scholarship or federal grant?

Do you need full time status for a scholarship or federal grant?

I think so. I'm not sure though. The federal grant should be available either part time or full time .
