Hi,
Just wondering..can you challenge NCLEX-RN after being an LPN after a year or so? My sister told me that one of her co-worker in the hospital she works did it without going back to lpn-rn bridge course..Is that possible..? i need info about this thanks..Can someone shed a light..:typing

Your state's BON is probably the best place to find the answer.
I do know that in a lot of states, you have to have graduated from an RN program in order to be eligible to sit for the NCLEX-RN.

What state are we talking about? The only situation anything like that I've ever heard of is that CA has a provision that LPNs who have a minimum number of years of experience (I think it's 5 years, certainly not one!) and complete a few specific courses are eligible to write the NCLEX-RN and get licensed as RNs. However, RNs licensed through that mechanism are not able to endorse those licenses to any other state (they can only work in CA), because the other states do not recognize their education/preparation as meeting their (the other states') requirements for RN education.
If I'm wrong, BTW, I'm happy to be corrected -- I don't want to be spreading bad info. :)
