I was thinking the same place to renew mine but I will go early next week or the first week of July. So much to do between now and July 31st.

It is a lot!! A bit overwhelming so I'm trying to finish it in spurts. I did drug testing today so just bit by bit and we will get there.

WOW! that was fast. Where were you able to find a drug testing place and how much was it? I am trying to schedule a doctor's appointment to get this all this medical stuff done in one shot but my medical center is lagging one replying to my appointment request.

So all I did was sign up for the Complio page where everything needs to be uploaded and they have 3 packages you have to buy. One is a drug screen. You pick a place nearby and then just take your paperwork they email you and go. It was super easy. I didn't even need an appointment. I knew I couldn't wait to sign up until July when the zoom is or I would never get it done. I called my GP and she was able to get me in for a physical and titers. Maybe try that. I didn't think I would get an appointment with all the covid stuff, but I did. I thought it was safer to do the drug screen wherever they send me so I know I do the right thing.

Got it. I didn't read into that much detail on the 40 plus page PDF attachment, but I do appreciate the info. Looks like I will sign up for the Complio tonight.

LOL I know it was long. I read it cover to cover but I have kids so I'm trying to get as much done as possible so I can hang out for the Summer!! The dosage calculations scares me to be honest. I need to review for sure. The class was way too short and when I looked at it in the packet I dont remember much

Hey everyone,

Does anyone know how the background check works? Do we need to print anything and bring is somewhere like the drug test? Let me know if anyone has gone to that step yet.

Also, I think it would be great to create a facebook group so its easier for all of us to chat. If you agree reply and I can create it. Thanks!

Hi

The background check is one of the packages you buy once you create an account on complio. You just pay and they do the rest. It will automatically upload as compliant once you pass. So just pay and that's it!! I'm totally down for the facebook group. That will even be helpful once we start classes. Then no one else can see our conversation either. Let me know if you start one and I will join!!

Thanks for the response Mlp421 !

I created the facebook group, here is the link:

www.facebook.com/groups/chaffeynursingfall2020/

It's private so you need to request to join. Thanks everyone and hope to chat more on there so we can help each other answer each others questions.

So I gather you are on the alternate list? Anyway, I would go with your gut and not persuasion based on someone else's experience. If you have the grit you will succeed in no matter where you go. In my opinion Chaffey has an excellent ADN program with high NCLEX passage percentages.

Where are you doing your BLS Cert?

This. 100%.

Congratulations everyone!! I view these threads every few months because in the Fall of 2018 this was me on here commenting and praying to get into a nursing program (& praying to see a positive comment on Chaffey’s program) thus why I’m commenting.
I’ll be entering my 4th semester in the program at Chaffey in August! I’d be lying if I said that it isn’t hard and that some instructors aren’t intimidating. However that’s Every nursing program.
In my experience so far it’s been more positive than not. Get in where you can! It’s competitive out there & Chaffey has a good program. The resources are there for you to succeed. Yes it’s hard, yes it can be scary but what isn’t?
I’ve met countless Chaffey grads at clinical (who are all amazing and Super knowledgeable) and they’ve all told me the same thing. That the journey was hard & worth it. Everyone has a Very different experience in the program. Your time in the program will Fly by. I still can’t believe I’ll be entering my 4th semester. I still remember being a terrified, eager and excited 1st semester newbie. So here’s a positive comment for you all. Take what you hear with a grain of salt, study hard and don’t get caught up in any drama or gossip! Do you.
