I am a BSN graduate from the Philippines and currently residing in Dallas, TX. I applied for Credential Evaluation Service (CES)- Professional report with CGFNS, I want to be license in Texas and CES is one of their requirements. I have already submitted all the requirements. Last week I received a letter from the CGFNS regarding my License Validation form, they mentioned that they received it from the licensing authority in the Philippines but they did not accept it because it doesn't have my professional title which is because I did not took the nursing licensure exam in the Philippines. I was wondering if they could still push through with the credential evaluation even without the license validation form? Please help... what should I do?

WELL, go back to the Philippines and take the local board. I graduated from Nursing school in the Philippines March 2011, took the local board in July 2011 and passed it. went back home to Florida, took CGFNS almost 6 months to process my CES papers, took the NCLEX OCT 2011 and passed it and now gainfully employed as an ICU nurse here in FL. What is wrong with you guys taking the local board ? Prove that you are worthy of your education by passing first the local boards before the NCLEX.

PS: DID is always followed by a present tense! It irks me a lot when people can't write basic/simple English sentences.

Well, good for you! I did not take the licensure exam back in Phils. cause I am a U.S citizen. Prc won't allow me to take it. It is part of their regulations that only Filipino citizens will be allowed to take it.

P.S: Stop being critical to other people's grammar. u r a nurse be therapeutic at least.

What is wrong with us? What is also wrong with you advising people to take the local board when in fact we dont need the local board in order to be licensed here but it just happened that california had been already enforcing their rule about concurrency...i have known people who did not really take the local board and had been practicing RN already. Lucky you that Florida has not enforced the concurrency rule yet so watch out if you decide to apply for reciprocity here in California if you will not experience what we are experiencing right now so be careful on what you tell people....

Like you, i also did not take the local board but having the concurrency problem here in California. So what i can say, is contact texas board and cgfns to verify if the PHilippine license was really required and tell them the reason why you did not have it. I am not sure but it might be the same with California that a philippine license is not required ,only a letter of explanation...

Sometimes it helps to put all information in a post so we can answer accordingly.

using grammar has it's place but we are not here to put people down when they do not use what you see as correct grammar, what we do ask however is text talk is not used as we try to be a professional board

there are much nicer ways on how to handle the thread starter's query, and that's to state a fact. pure and simple. Although proper English usage is desirable, we don't use poor grammar as a reason to indirectly insult someone.

Back to the topic:

I did not take the NLE back in the Philippines. I informed CGFNS about that before I applied for a CES. They said I just need to write on the application form that I did not take it (I think with a reason, too). So if it's asking for a reason, then just state that PRC will not allow you to take the NLE because of your citizenship.

Also, ask Texas BON if they have any existing rule regarding not having a license in the country where you took your nursing education. And I hope they'll allow you since you don't have any choice because PRC won't let you take it anyway.

oh, I forgot. CGFNS told me not to include the licensure verification in my application.

and on my CES report, it's stated that I'm not a Philippine RN license holder.

The OP just asking what to do,you dont have to be rude..Its not about you its about the OPs question..I wonder what kind of nurse you are..So sad for that attitude you have..

I called CGFNS about that, and the person that i talked to seemed to know wat he was actually doing. he told me that still ask somebody to go to PRC (shocked coz he knows wat to call who gives license in the Phil) to send a letter to CGFNS stating that the person applying was not able to take the exam for certain reason. and to include that the person applying does not have a license.

query: i am still confuse with the signature thing that the application is asking. read the instructions and tried to search it in the CGFNS website yet still confused. it states that the signature must show first name middle name and last name and it should show identical in every document/application that asks for a signature. does it mean that our name should be in cursive writing for signing it? i dont know if i did it right but what i did was sign it like i usu do with my other important docs and write my name in cursive after that. i know its a dumb question but i couldnt help asking.pls help.
