admin note: as of 7-19-04 i just added a poll with the question from the original post. please remember to be nice to other posters, there is no need for personal attacks. thanks brian

Even though it shows up in "latest threads" it still has the forum located on the right hand side of the page. Anyway, I wish I could answer your question, but I'm just a future SRNA. Did you check out gaswork.com and salary.com for approximate salaries in your area?

His/her original post did not say FOR CRNA nurses......he/she edited it after the fact. Yall are really making a mountain out of a mole hill. Maybe you should consider a NON-STRESSFUL career goal-like case management or something along those lines.

Actually, I was under "latest posts" on the home page. When you post a note (even though its under a specific category)-it will also show up on the home page. Sorry if you were offended!! You should see someone about your hostility/anger issues. I wasnt the only one that misunderstood you.!

HEY, I ONLY GOT AN ATTITUDE AFTER I READ YOUR COMPLETLY SARCASTIC COMMENT WITH HUGE LAUGHING FACES ACROSS IT, BASICALLY IMPLYING I WAS THE IDIOT!

I don't know how myself, but isn't there a way to ask your question as a poll? That way people can respond annonomously.

I don't know how you are going to factor out the non-CRNA nurses who seem to have trouble reading plain English, though ;-)

There is a way and that is what I wanted to do but I wasn't sure how. Does anyone know?

Stl....was interested in your questions as well. The three laughing faces, and the quivering smiley face was a bit annoying...don't blame you for defending yourself...but that is all resolved now.

Was able to create a poll with salary variable only. Unsure how to ask both salary and years of experience. When you start a thread, you have the option to check the "create a poll" box.

Hope this helps.

It is easy to see how complete chaos rules the nursing profession. If this is any indication of how you guys read labels and dispense medicine we are all in trouble. The question is simple. If you are a CRNA, please choose the letter that most closely corresponds with your yearly income.

Now excuse me while I stick a pencil in my eye.

?? I am not quite sure how to take that, but...okay go ahead? The statement itself was a bit chaotic, are you a nurse as well? Thank you for amusing me.

Thank You!!! I had no idea. I will try that next time!

The AANA does a salary survey every year and that information is available.

I am curious as to why you want that information. Perhaps I am a little paranoid, but my income is my business (and the IRS). Also I think a large number of CRNAs do not consider themselves "salaried" employees, but business professionals, whose income is part of the expenses of running a business. If they are salaried, then you must consider other important information: (1) is the position full-time, part-time, include call time and call back time, (2) what is the benefit package? (3) what other sources of professional income, such as locums are included?

One of the things that makes our profession great are the various types of practice modes out there.

Final word--NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, UNDERESTIMATE THE VALUE OF ADMINISTERING ANESTHESIA. We are worth every penny we make and even then, we are undercompensated.

Yeah, Uh, it was just for fun, not meant to be extremly serious. I wanted to make a poll and didn't know how, but some nice person did it for me. If you don't want to share your income than that's okay, if you don't mind than that is too. Not a big deal.
