Just found out that I am accepted at TWU! I tell you what, I know that it is only by the grace of God that this could happen. And I am truely thankful for the work that the lord has done.

I feel excited, nervous, and ready to prepare for the next step. Is there anyone else who will be relocating temporarily to fort worth? Have you been apt hunting? Plans for studying up before starting? Does anyone know how much you can take out in loans to live on or have info on grants or other means of non-borrowed money? Any suggestions on books I should purchase and go over in the next 5 month's? :rotfl:

Specializes in SICU, Anesthesia.

Congratulations and the best of luck to you. I will be starting a program this summer and I am excited as well. I have decided to follow others advice and relax over the summer. I have been in school for the past nine semesters. I finish my BSN in May and I want some time to relax before I hit the books. Again, Good luck and congratulations.

Congratulations!!

TCRN, I would advise that you do not try to get ahead too much this summer. Just make sure that you are knowledgeable in chemistry so you won't spend that much time on it when you need to be studying pharm or especially anatomy. One book that you could get that will be required of you late in the fall but is an interesting read is "Watchful Care". It is a history of Nurse Anesthesia and you will have to do a short paper on it at the end of the fall term. Good book relating to the history. I know you will need the latest edition of the "Textbook of Medical Physiology" Guyton & Hall editors. That is the only definate one I can tell you as there will be a new chem and pharm teacher this fall. Congrats! You will love it!

Relax and enjoy the summer. Congratulations

traditionaly the response to this kind of post is. "don't do anything", "enjoy yourself now".

I might would learn some simple chem stuff. i.e. memorize the polyatomic ions, hell if you dont have anything else to do become one with the periodic table.

here is an excerise that I think will show you whats ahead. in 2 hours memorize the following: 1. the polyatomic ions, be able to write them all out with their names. I think there is like 18 or so

2. within that same two hours memorize the elements in periods 1,2 and 17,18. know their valance electrons, and their atomic number.

after two hours see if you can RECALL this data simiply write it all down on a blank peice of paper. this is some good stuff to know but it also is an example of what you'll be doing everyday. in other words, prime your memory.

As for watchful care,... All it did was make me mad at the world and medicice. but you will have to read it.

I am so glad to hear all your hard work has paid off!!!! Keep us updated on your progress and again.. CONGRATS!!!!!!

CONGRATS!! All of your efforts have paid off! Now we are going to be classmates!! Woohoo!!! The countdown begins!
