Certified background check drug test

Im going to sign up for a drug test using certified background. Co m. I was wondering what type of drug test they do for nursing. Is it just urine?? Hair test??

I've never done a background drug test with that company but have had several pre-employment and nursing school drug tests-all were urine. Most facilities want a 12 panel drug screen, although if they want to get really ambitious they can order a urine tox screen and test you for just about everything. I had to laugh when the order got screwed up in my doctor's office. I called in asking for a script for a 12 panel urine drug screen, a blood alcohol screening, and a tb test for nursing school. I guess the receptionist left off the nursing school part and my doctor got a bit concerned since he had already checked me for tb twice and urine drugs once in the past eleven months and now I was asking for more. My urine came back positive for caffeine and sudafed (I had a URI). The doctor interpreted the screening as "acceptable urine drug screen".

So, you will likely be tested for the 12 most commonly abused drugs and maybe alcohol....or for some odd ball reason they'll check everything. As long as you have a script for anything that isn't over the counter, you're fine.

It is the company or school ordering it?

The school sent me to go to that website and they will provide the facility. I might have smoked pot 3 months ago once and now im a little nervous. I hope its just urine test.

How about not doing illegal drugs if you're going into a trusted profession?

Get a life. It was one time three months ago. How about you lay off the judgement and stop acting like you're perfect.

How about some helpful information instead of criticism. Thanks

My drug test/background check was through them for school, and it was a urine test.

You "might have smoked pot"? Either you did or you didn't. "Helpful information" is not always nice. Stop smoking weed. If you make a mistake when nursing they can order a UA on the spot and if you pop hot get ready for the hammer. Lawsuits, firing, loss of nursing license, fines. And that is the beginning. I have seen it and it isn't pretty. I don't care what you do, but the way to make life easier is to give these things up. If you choose not to that is fine, but also understand the consequences. You are trying to enter a field where lawyers are salivating at any opportunity to hit you. Your best protection is to not give anyone the ammunition. Good luck man.

Why do people just blow by this? It's no big deal. Let's see, you applied to nursing school with the hopes of getting in, correct? You knew this testing would be coming up as it is a standard requirement for every program, correct? You know pot is an illegal substance, am I also correct?

Yet, you choose to smoke and you come on here wanting to basically figure out how you can possibly come up negative. I'm sure your researched how long pot stays in your system. I'm sure you know what these answers are. Now what you really want to know is if they are doing a follicle test and you may fail. It depends on what your clinical facilities require. It truly does.

This isn't and shouldn't be a debate on how people think it isn't a big deal. You smoked an illegal substance and now will be tested. Good luck with that. Don't be surprised if you lose your seat. All over "what isn't a big deal". It will be if your career is over before it starts. Hospitals view it as a big deal as well as schools, therefore, if you hope to work in the field, then you need to as well. It's very black and white.

I would like to point out that marijuana isn't necessarily illegal everywhere (federally yes, according to the state, no.) Although I don't partake, it was a culture shock moving from somewhere that it's illegal to a state where recreational use is acceptable. This may be the OP's situation. That being said, even in my state (where it's not illegal,) the nursing programs and employers DO still test for marijuana.

hair test ? Or urine test. Because it was a one time thing where I made a wrong choice if trying it.
