Certification prior to nursing school? Helps or No?

Published

Just wondering if any of you had any certifications prior to nursing school? EMT, LTE, CNA, etc.

I'm dabbling in the idea of getting one, since I have another few semesters left of pre reqs(hoping to apply fall 2014), so I'm just curious if it's helped.

Of those classes, CNA should be the easiest. I was taking 17 credit hours when I took it.

Specializes in Maternal Child, Home Health, Med/Surg.

So you think it's doable? I just need As. I might move medical terminology just to have one less.

I definitely think its doable! Besides, you can do anything if you put your mind to it! ;)

Definitely a doable load. CNA training was pretty straight forward.

As long as my husband maintains the kids I should be good :) I already have all the requirements except my CPR card needs updated...ouch. Lol

Again thank you!!

Specializes in Hospice.

Medical terminolgy is easy, just memorization/vocab. You can do that.
