Certification exams

The National Commisssion on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC) provides and exam to become a certified Correctional Health Professional. These exams are done at their convention in the spring and fall and are also given at regional locations throughtout the US. Contact ncchc.org for more information.

The American Correctional Association also has a certification program for correctional nurses. visit them at aca.org.

Yep, took the CCHP exam, passed..now have more initials after my name--I think it gives more credibility

Should get one...some places won't even hire you without it

I too am interested in education/cert. pertaining to corrections. Has anyone take a Canyon College course? Their web page looks a little cheesy but the courses look good and affordable as mentioned. Also, how challenging is the NCCHP exam? Does it require a lot of prep?
