hey there, ive read lots of posts about this subject and i have the same dilemma: SSN number to obtain license in california. (Filipino nurse who just passed the NCLEX as well) uhmm, so i was thinking of the endorsement process... to NY. its just that they require me to state there in their forms a license/certificate/registration number.. what is it that i could possibly use because what I only have is the file number written in the notification letter that I passed the NCLEX.
Likewise, visa screen requires the same thing --a registration/certificate number... and its really driving me crazy.. i dont know what to do.
I am aware that if ever i want my documents be processed for endorsement, i should pay $60 dollars. It's just that I cannot submit my documents since i cannot complete their application forms... be it for the NY state or the CVS or the Visa Screen.
Need your help!
thank you so much!
Hi
I passed NCLEX exam but no license. I have social security number but NJ BON refused to license me. THey even refuse to send me a letter that i passed NCLEX as they say that they don't do that. I am not sure what to do, as the visa screen process needs proof that i passed NCLEX, i feel so stuck and not sure. I wish i chose NY BON instead. I figured since i have social security number they would atleast issue me a letter that i passed. I don't even know if once again i can apply to any other BON as i have taken NCLEX and passed in NJ.
Any type of input woudl be appreciated
thanks

NJ should be able to verify with ICHP that you have passed NCLEX as it needs to come direct from them to ICHP

how did u get SSN tnx.
In order for you to get a valid ss# you have to be in the US. In order to receive it, you must be here on a visa which qualifies you to obtain a ss#. You just don't walk up to the ss office and apply for a number. Well you can, but you will get denied if you're not authorized to have one.

I received your pm, and responded to it. I would also listen to what others are telling you here.
Agencies do not issue visas, you are looking at about five years for a chance at a visa. And we have not seen any hospitals petitioning for sometime for NY, you would be working at a nursing home only and suggest that you do some reading on the Philippine Forum to see what has been going on there for sometime with that.
And if the agency is telling you that you need a NY license before they will start anything, you are looking at about 8 months to even get the CVS completed. CVS obtains all of the required documents on their own, anything other than the application and the releases that need to be signed by you, nothing else it submitted.
And just because you wrote the NCLEX for CA, you are still not considered a US RN as they have not issued a license to you, you do not hold registration in the US in any state. Each state is free to set their own requirements and passing the exam does not make you an RN in all states if they have additional requirements. And therefore cannot use the endorsement process, only the License by Examination forms.
