CEP Summer 2019 (castle branch question)

Hi,

I was accepted into the CEP Summer 2019 GWCC/ASU Mornings and I just recently uploaded all of my documents to castle branch (immunizations, CPR, etc.) but I have not uploaded my castle branch background check results. We got an email in March about the Castle Branch background check and I started the background check the day we got the email. However, the castle branch background check is STILL pending and has not finished with a pass of fail yet.

Is anyone else experiencing their background checks still pending or did yals finish immediately? My background check is still pending on National warrants and I haven't been outside of Arizona & a family member of mine works in law enforcement checked databases if I had any warrants and what not and he said I do not.

Curious if anyone else is having this issue and if you could share your experience. Thanks

Everyone's is pending the Nationwide wants and warrants. I've spoken to them multiple times and there is nothing they can do to speed it up. The schools are aware also.

Another topic: any idea when all the immunizations, cpr are due, and when our drug test will be?

From what the emails have said we need to upload our immunizations cpr, etc. to castle branch with approval by orientation day. The email from Ellen Cummings was vague though; does she mean prior to GWCC orientation or ASU orientation? Because ASU orientation is on May 8&9th . She hasn’t replied to my email in regards to that question yet.

in reference to the urine test, I have no idea.

You will need your immunizations before you can be accepted into any clinical rotations, so the school will want them done ASAP. I suggest going to your doc and just getting them all in one go (as far as you can, anyway) if you have any outstanding ones. You will need your BLS/CPR card for the rotations too, so get that done as soon as you can.

The drug screen will be given to you randomly sometime in block 1 (after you start). There will be no warning, you just have to get it done within the next day or two and obviously come up clean.

I'm sure it's probably by GWCC orientation...I wonder when that will be.

Yes it will be your community college orientation. The universities do not have any stipulations on things such as immunizations as all of your classes with them are online.

You could reach out to CB directly if you're concerned. I really wouldn't worry too much - CB is used by many colleges across the country. Imagine how many people they're dealing with right now, and it's not only nurses - lots of other health professions too. They're likely juggling 1000s of applications right now. When is the deadline for you?

I've called them a number of times. This was supposed to be complete by April 3.

So the college wants it by April 3rd or CB said they'd have it by April 3rd?

The school originally said April 3 but now it's later thank God! Castlebranch, however, assure me that everything would be done prior to April 3rd when I started the process. They gave me the time frame and stated that they are always completed within that time frame. They were obviously very wrong!

Hi Chilly -

OK - well, I can see now why you're so frustrated if they gave you an end date of 3 weeks ago! The main thing is you have proof that you submitted with them and the college is on board with what's going on. I would keep the pressure on them though - call every day if you have to and make it clear that the college is relying on this info in order to move forward with your application.
