CEP Requirements - relocating to AZ

U.S.A. Arizona

Published

Hello!

I will be moving to Arizona next spring in 2015. I have been an accounting professional for the last 6 years and finally have decided to pursue something I enjoy! I'm really nervous about this step in my life but it needs to be done!

I was looking at the CEP Requirements from Maricopa and ASU.

Can someone just confirm that these are the only prereqs I need for my GPA and admission? I have been trying to reach a Nursing Advisor but have had no luck. I keep going through to the voicemail.

In the brochure they list the following as prereqs and coreqs for MaricopaNursing:

First Year Composition (ENG 101 & ENG 102)

Chem 130, 130LL

PSY 101

BIO 201 and BIO 202

Bio 205

Then they mention additional ASU prereqs:

Human Pathophysiology - HCR 240

and College Math (MAT 142 or higher).

After that it mentions an additional 7 credits of Upper Division are required.

[TD]An additional 7 credits of Upper Division (SB with C and/or H; and SB or HU with C and/or H) are required. These are not prerequisites but completion is highly recommended prior to entry in program.

What classes is this referencing?

Any guidance will be much appreciated!!

Not sure what your work situation is but you could do micro and patho in the same semester for sure. Maybe this fall? Then you would be done in December. The next CEP application period is February 2015. So if you were accepted, you would start Fall 2015! I'm not sure what you mean by taking the HESI again? You don't have to take the science portion for entrance into nursing school. Just English and Math. You don't need to take it again unless you want to improve your scores!

Wow, that would be dang cool to make it into school next year! I was not sure if I needed to have the science portion for the HESI to apply for the CEP. I only got an over all score of 87% on the HESI, so I am not sure if that would be good enough to be competitive.

You definitely could if you take patho and micro during the summer/fall!! How exciting!! No, you don't have to have any science portion to apply for the CEP. Just need to print your test scores that you took to get on the waiting list and bring those. :)

Wow this forum is a wealth of knowledge. Ask and ye shall receive! I got your PM AZMama86, just a few more posts and perhaps I will be allowed to return the PM. I work a full time job and have been going to school part time to finish up. Not the way to get an education by any means.

Yes it sure is! I have learned a lot from this forum over the past few years! I work full time too and I agree.. not the ideal way to go but it's gotta get done at some point! :)

Just found an app for my smartphone so I can keep tabs on this forum....even better. Well I think the best route to go is the CEP.

You should be able to send PMs now. You have to have 15 posts and you are at 15! I didn't realize there was an app. I will have to get that! I think the CEP is the best route too, if you have the time available to do it! It allows you to get your bachelor's in 2.5 years vs 4.

I had a quick question about the HESI.. what parts need to be completed? Just the English and Math?

Oh, nevermind! I saw just your previous post AZMama.
