Does anyone know the upcoming dates and times for the NAU information sessions? I submitted my application to be in the Maricopa nursing pool a couple of days ago so I don't have access to any of the information yet. I am just wanting to get ahead so I can apply for the 2016 Fall CEP cohort:D
Anyone else planning on applying for 2016 Fall CEP?
GCU was where I shouldn't have started. I honestly regret going there.. I should have started at GCC. But oh well can't change the past. When I met with the nursing advisor at GCC last week to put myself into the maricopa nursing pool I asked her if she thought I had a good chance of getting in and she said she couldn't really tell until all the applications are in. She did say it was really competitive and 97/196 applicants got in last year. Im hoping there are some duds in this next application session so I can look better! I am applying for the NAU CEP program though. I know its the most popular one so Im pretty nervous about it all and I am really tempted to retake the HESI but I am dreading sitting in front of that computer again for 3 hours:no:

I totally understand. I liked having the typical "freshman year experience," but everything else sucked. I'm not sure what I would do. I've thought about retaking the two classes I got C's in (AP 1 and Micro), maybe you could do that? Retaking the HESI seems like the easiest option to be honest. Hang in there. You'll get in!
If you don't mind me asking what was your GPA and Hesi score
Sorry I just now saw this! My HESI was 96% Math and 91% English. I honestly don't remember my GPA but believe it was around 3.5. But I would not rely on that because I was accepted over 2 years ago and I graduate this fall. When I applied, it was "competitive entry" but everyone who met the minimum qualifications got in because there was enough spots for everyone. Unfortunately, that's not the case anymore. As of last semester, they received more applications than they had spots for and had to deny some people who still met the minimum qualifications. This info is on the Maricopa Nursing website.

I could've written this myself. Did all my pre-reqs except two at GCU and barely managed a 2.9. I transferred to the CC's with that and an 87% HESI. I applied for CEP with UIU and got in and am now about to start block 2. Back when I applied, everyone got in as long as they met the requirements. Not sure how it is now, but just wanted to say you're not alone with having little success at GCU. I'm actually really thankful that I ended up in the CEP program at GWCC because my cohort is much more diverse which enhances my learning experience.
