I went to the doctor on Monday for my pneumovax shot and the next day my arm was swollen and red so I went in Wednesday and they said I had cellulitis. They gave me antibiotics but refused to believe my infection was caused by the shot. I just read a post on this Web about the pneumovax causing cellulitis is this a common accurence.

TOS! Which you agreed to when you joined to make this post, clearly state no medical or legal advice to be govern.
having said that, I've never had a patient report this.
this isn't a forum for patients to whine on relating to their care or illnesses
I was asking a question I saw a post on the subject and wanted to know if it was a common accurence not whining about anything and you didn't have to respond with your negative BS.

OP, good for you for following up with your provider. This helps the CDC and the manufacturer track adverse reactions, if indeed this was one. In my experience, Pneumovax has resulted in sore arms, but I have not seen cellulitis. I hope you are feeling better.
Thank you for your response I'm certain it was the shot. I will be showing them the article I found on the topic so maybe this won't happen to anyone else.

Any invasive intervention can result in infection when it introduces a pathogen. Contaminated needle, inadequate skin prep . . . just sayin'
