Cedars-Sinai RN New Grad 2011

Just wanted to know if anyone here got an e-mail invitation on Cedars-Sinai RN New Grad Program. I had my phone interview with them on December 29th. I received my e-mail today inviting me to the hiring event Open House for the Program on January 19th. I'm soooo nervous. It's been almost a year since I graduated and I finally got my first in-person interview! It's been so hard on all of us graduates! Let's hope for the best! :D

I've been creeping on here too. I called HR the week before open house to clarify when we have to have our license by, because the email I received said by July 1st, but in my phone interview she said by the end of July. Since I already knew that it was doubtful I'd have my license before the 1st, I wanted to figure out if it was even worth going to the open house if I wasn't going to qualify anyway. I left a message for R.L. (I'm hoping initials are okay to use), and I received a call back the next day from someone in the office. I don't remember exactly what he said, and this was a couple of weeks ago, so things may have changed since then, but I believe he said there will be 3 cohorts with staggered starting dates (the dates he gave me were July 11, July 25, and Aug 15), and he said that if I was to be offered a position, but wouldn't have my license before the July 11th start date, that I could be placed into one of the later start dates. I think he said that I'd most likely be placed in the August group, I guess just to be safe. I clarified again by asking him then if I could basically ignore the July 1st date (or July 5th in some people's emails) and he said yes. I also asked if we needed to physically have the license in our hand by whatever start date and he said no, so I guess just having proof from the BRN's website (which I believe shows you your license number) is enough.

So BNice, I would say you should call HR just to verify that this is still okay (better to be safe than sorry), but not stress too much about trying to rush your test date. Remember too that people cancel their test dates all the time, so I bet that a better/more preferable test date and location will eventually become available. Just gotta stalk Pearson Vue's website a bit!

This thread got so quite since yesterday, I think we are all a little disappointed that we didn't get a call. But I'm sure they still have a lot of people to call!!!! So don't lose hope my friends, I'm sure most of you will get the good news....keep your phones with you on Monday :D

As for me, I always knew that I didn't have many chances not having a BSN so I'm not surprised they haven't called me, but it was worth it anyway to interview with them......

I just wanted to try to cheer everyone up a little.....have a great weekend!!!

Yeah for sure. And I would bet a million $ that they're totally not done calling. They probably only planned to call the first few people yesterday. In the email response I got they said that they haven't even finished finalizing all the lists yet. We should relax :cool: this weekend, take our minds off of it, I think. I've spent way too much time at the computer desk in my kitchen with my cell phone. We can go back to stressing out Monday at 8am :p

Yes same here cheap but close to Cedars...range is around 1500 lil more or less from what I've seen so far...but definitely msg me if you're interested!

I live close-by but have not heard from them on Friday...:crying2: anyway I meant to ask u... r u from Hawaii by chance? I'm only asking bc of ur user name. I grew up in Hawaii. Haha :)

No i am not from hawaii but my dad grew up over there and i have relatives that live there. I would LOVE to live there one day.

Unless anyone's heard different I'm pretty sure that they've only called a few people that will be in the first cohort. Many of us just took the NCLEX and if we don't have our license I'm pretty sure we're not considered for the 1st cohort. Hopefully we'll hear from them sometime between Monday and Wednesday (I don't think they'd be making calls over father's day weekend)! So relax and spend time celebrating with your dad's and we'll get back to this stressing business Monday when more people post that they've received calls!
