Cedars-Sinai New Grad Summer 2013

Just thought it would be helpful to post a new thread for the upcoming new grad program starting this summer. I've seen the thread for the program last year and wanted to see if anyone was one of the first 250 who applied for it this year. I applied for cohort #1 and got a phone interview last week and the gentleman said that I'd receive an e-mail within 1-2 weeks. I've also heard of people getting rejection emails as well without a phone interview. Anyone have additional info they'd like to share? Good luck to all us new grads out there!

i got accepted to cohort 1 too and Im looking at places around cedars sinai so I can just walk to the hospital lol.

Yay congrats!! I was planning on doing that too so I don't have to worry about the commute and parking fees.

Anyone have any updates for cohort 1? Still anxious because nothing is official yet :/

HR said we still need to get our physical done, so I need to fly in LA two weeks before our start date to get it completed.

I also got the invitation to the open house. any feedback from past interviews would be of great help.

behavioral type interview questions. Be prepared to have scenarios from your clinical experience. Hope that helps.

Dang. I am still waiting for my background check and drug screening. its been a week already. Don't know whats taking so long :( Its hard finding a place down there without proof of work. still waiting for that offer letter

Yeah I did my drug screen on Tuesday and haven't heard anything regarding that. Then I got a "sign and release form" from the background check company that I needed to sign authorizing them to verify employment at my old job. So I know something is going on at least....still nerve wracking not to know what unit I'm on so I can prepare somehow

First they called me to see if the email I had on file was a good one and then emailed me

Hey guys!! I'm also a new grad who got into cohort 1 and I still haven't heard anything as far as placement. I did my drug screen, app, and background check. Still anxiously waiting!! Congrats to everyone who got in and good luck to everyone applying!! :-)

Anyone have any thoughts on the Open House/Interview Event today for the 2nd cohort? I walked out with really mixed feelings about how my interview went! I felt that I hit all the relevant points in the questions asked, but my interviewer didn't take any notes during our meeting which made me really nervous! Now the wait begins! Hope it won't be too long to find out if we move onto the next round of interviews...

I interviewed today at the open house as well. Felt good about it and it went very smoothly. Now the waiting game begins. Praying :nailbiting:

I was told we would hear via email within a few days. I think the 3rd interview is next Wednesday, the 22nd. Anyone know who many they are interviewing and how many spots are available?

At our 3rd open house there were about 80 who interviewed and 25 got selected for the program
