Hey everyone!
Just thought we could start a thread for those of us who interviewed for Cedars-Sinai's new grad program this past week.
thanks guys =) honestly, i’m not sure how ready i am. i took the kaplan review course and i’ve been getting good scores on my tests. however, i made the mistake of logging out early and my online account expired before i could take the last test which tells you if you’re ready. so now i’m just studying from our kaplan book. anyway, i guess i’ll jus study as much as i can. i would also like to have one less thing to worry about. good luck on your test too chica and congrats on passing the nclex candleguy!
p.s. i realize this is supposed to be a cedars-sinai thread but it's pretty much dying so what the heck lol
Hi guys,
Just in case anyone is still interested...
I called HR this morning. They said they will still be making phone calls to those who were selected until the end of this week.
Who knows, you still have a chance. I'm not really getting my hopes up though. I just wanted them to tell me that they were done calling so I could forget about it already.
hi! i just went to the cedars website and went to the RN new grad link ang clicked on the "contact us" and i submitted in my email add and pasted my resume..
is this how all of you applied and git a call from their HR? how did you get the interview and i read posts here talking about scorings
Hey kids! I just wanted you to know that one of my friends will be rejecting their employment offer from Cedar's because she has accepted another position at a different hospital. So, there is one more position open at Cedar's! :) Also, have any of you heard about the situation at Huntington Hospital in Pasadena? My other friend was supposed to start their new grad program but the hospital CANCELLED their program and rescinded their employment offers! Can you imagine? Now she has no job AND she has missed out on applying to the other FEW new grad programs. Such a shame. This economy SUCKS!!!
Good luck to all of you out there still searching! :):):)
Hey guys,
I hope those of you who are still waiting for an offer get the job. Personally, I'm done waiting. I just won't get lucky with Cedars. However, I do believe that they are not done calling... otherwise, we would have received a letter by now.
Yesdog, the situation at Huntington is INSANE!!!! Out of curiosity, did your friend signed a contract? I imagine the legal implications this will bring. The only idea that due to the economy other hospitals may take similar actions is very scary.

wow! how sad but who knows there night be better employment for your friend. im living in the north county of san diego and RN I positions here are all hard to find..i'm thinking that it could be due to the economy, i'm wondering how can't an RN get a job? i thought nurses are in demand..is it really due to the economic downfall? am i the only one RN here suffering with unemployment?
what happened?
Healer007 I don't know if she signed a contract or not....probably not.
i know that I am starting the new grad program at UCIMC and I won't sign my contract until the first day of orientation. Scary place to start working considering that CA is not able to send out paychecks right now....

I agree, I'm taking mine next week too. I had a panic moment a couple days ago and wanted to postpone it, and then realized that I've done everything I can to prepare, so I might as well end the torture and just take it so I can start enjoying life a little more. Plus, applying to jobs with a license will *hopefully* help a little. I say just go for it, and good luck!
