Published

Just wanted to start a thread for Cedars 2010 Grad program. Anyone heard back yet? What are your stats?

Hello All New grad Rn,

I need some help, when did they post new grad rn position. Are they still taken application? Thanks

the application was up at the end of december for the feb/march cohort. the application for this is down I think

Hi everyone,

I am trying to compile all the documents for the portfolio. The list doesn't include a cover letter, should I just leave it out? And I want to ask again, is the 1-page essay single or double-spaced?

Thanks everyone. I'm soooooo nervous!

It's funny because I kept calling CSMC and I was told different things everytime. First, it was that the application will be up sometime in December. Then it was we're not sure if they're going to have the program. And then, the program was cancelled. And then, they're not hiring until for the summer cohort. I swear, different answers every single time I called.

I was so confused. LOL

I single spaced my essay. What would have been better was a word limit, but it was a page limit, so I don't think it matters. Whatever it takes to make it look filled out I think.

I asked the nurse recruiter if the essay should be double spaced or single and she responded that it doesn't matter, as long as it is eligible. Hope that helps clear some things up.

A minimum of 3.5 GPA... so does this mean out automatically out of luch because my GPA is less than the requirement? Anyone who has the same problem? Do u think its still wise to there? My interview is on the 19th...

In my opinion, maybe just go anyway. They already invited you. You don't really lose anything by going (except your time and gas money maybe), but at least you'll get more interview practice and who knows... maybe you extremely impress your interviewer, and he/she totally looks past your GPA. I don't know. That's just me though.

But if you want, why not try calling the nurse recruiter? Maybe she can help you or give you some advice on what should be the appropriate thing to do.

Good luck!

OMG! I'm starting to panic for tomorrow. I just noticed that the LOR my professor sent me is just printed on ordinary paper (looks photocopied). I have another one from her that is sealed in an envelop, but I'm pretty sure it's the same thing. Should I bring that LOR sealed, so it shows it's not photocopied?

And how did you guys format the cover page?

Name: xxxx

GPA: xxxx

Area: of Intrest: xxxx

Left-justified? Centered? Middle of the Page?

Sorry I ask too much. I just want to make sure I'm doing everything right.

Hey monkeysarecute

I would just bring whatever you have from your professor unless you can get a letter last minute that doesn't look "photocopied". I'm sure whatever you have is fine. But if you're really worried, then bring the one in an envelope.

Just relax, breathe, and don't panic. You've made it this far so you'll be GREAT! ;)

"And how did you guys format the cover page?

This is what I did:

my name

school name and then gpa because ive been to diff schools

area of interest

center-center justified

or if you're still worried and panicking, then give the nurse recruiter a call and explain to them the situation. I'm sure they'll be able to clear it up and put your mind at ease :)

I have the same problem! One of my letters is photocopied, the professor is no longer at my school (therefore I cannot get it on letterhead) and its not even signed because she sent it to me in an email (therefore it looks like I could have written it...). I really don't know how they can expect us to give them an original, most teachers will give you one and then drop off the face of the planet (ok maybe not...)

I have been trying to get ahold of my professors for WEEKS now and the school is not even in session right now, so I feel like I'm screwed. Thinking about just putting an addendum behind the letter stating the reason for its unoriginality? Any opinions??
