Hi everyone! I wanted to start a thread for the people in the Cedars Sinai New Grad program starting Mar 3! Maybe we can figure out good places to live, how to prepare, etc!
Kly623, don't be discouraged! The nurse manager I interviewed with the first time straight up told me to look elsewhere! But i didn't listen to her and decided to apply a 2nd time. I volunteered, polished my resume, practiced my interview skills and I was offered the job 2nd time around! Prayer and persistance helped me! Now that you know the entire process and the questions asked you have an upper hand among applicants for the next cohort! Don't give up! It doesn't hurt to apply again. Goodluck!!

Hi all. For those who will be starting in July, I created a thread to help us network about everything between now and then. I know there are several of us who will be relocating, and I am hoping that thread will help us discuss places to live, roommates and any other information related to getting started. The thread is "Cedars-Sinai July 2014 New Grad Cohort" https://allnurses.com/california-nursing/cedars-sinai-july-924540.html
Congratulations everyone. If I see any information on the next cohort I'll post here for those reapplying. The CA New Grad RN Jobs list on Facebook is also a good resource for finding job postings you may have missed. Good luck!
chullis, maybe you could give me some advice...I graduated in June, got my RN license in July. I am recently starting the TCAB volunteer program for cedars because I fell in love with cedars after doing three clinical rotations there. So, I already Went to the volunteer interview, just did their orientation etc. Unfortunately the TCAB training is the day I leave for my honeymoon (and the next training isn't for months). They said if I wanted, that I could still volunteer, but just not do the TCAB program since I won't be able to do the training. At first I thought that would be fine, because at least I would be volunteering. But then I heard all these great things bout the TCAB program, and it's so different than their regular volunteering program. Even the volunteer coordinator said I would be missing out on a lot if I did the regular volunteer program appose to TCAB. So now I am struggling to make this decision: Do I reschedule my honeymoon trip, which would cost me $400 once everything is changed/rebooked? Is the TCAB program going to benefit me THAT much?? It's a lot of money, but I am willing to pay it if its really going to help me get a foot in the door. I am so stuck right now.
