Question about EKG's and Rhythms

Specialties CCU

Published

I am a second year nursing student, we started class on Aug.19. Our first unit is on the CVS. I think the instructor spent about an hour on EKG strips and I don't think that was enough time. Are there any tricks to help to remember things like which kind of arrythmia, etc. Any help would be appreciated.

P.S. I didn't make myself clear...buy critical care drug books. I buy two or three at a time & take them to the hospital with me...handy.

You might try http://www.randylarson.com/acls/start.html I have found this site very helpful and easy to understand. You go at your own pace and it is full of information. Hope this helped.:>)

I visited the site u recommended, it was excellent. I have been a RN for 2 years and have only witnessed 2 codes. I,m one of those nurses who during a code feel very inadequate for lack of knowing what to do and wondering why they are doing what they are doing. I will be taking the ACLS class soon.

We were given the ACLS provider manual to prepare but I stopped reading it. It just was not sinking in. This site was very helpful. Thank you.
