CCSN Application points?

Okay, anyone applying to CCSN. I can't seem to get on the page for showing what points you can get for each thing like Bio 224 is 10 pts and whatever you score on your NLN is so many points. Does anyone know what the points are for the composite scores? Do they start giving you points after 110 or 115? I got a sucky 102...Needed to study more. I heard some places it is 100 to apply to program just curious? I'd appreciate the help.

The point sheet that I have (it is a couple years old, but don't think they have changed it) states that 100-115 is 0 points, 116-121 scores 1 point, 122-127 scores 2 points, 128-133 scores 3 points and 134 and above gets you 4 points. Hope this helps!

I can't remember what the points are for Fall 07, but I do know that the points have changed for Spring 08. They are as follows:

100-115 (0 pts)

116-121 (1 pt)

122-127 (2 pts)

128-133 (3 pts)

134-139 (4 pts)

140-145 (5 pts)

146-151 (6 pts)

152 and up (7 pts)

Thank you all for the help, I have the 2005 criteria, I have the others somewhere just can't find them right now. What about the points such as how many you get for Micro and Biology, I have been trying to add what I have so far and it's not that much. Pretty Scary! Do any of you do any volunteering anywhere I see that helps w/ points too. It's so hard having two kids and working at night to find time for volunteering somewhere.

Here are the pts for spring 08. That is when I am applying, so I only kept the info for then.

Bio 224= 10 pts

Bio 251= 5 pts

Comm 101= 5 pts

Soc 101= 1 pt

History x2 or PSC 101= 1 pt

There are no pts for volunteer work, only actual work experience which is worth 1 pt and a credentialed health occupation which is worth another 1 pt. How many total points do you have, just curious?

Thank you TCC, i was wondering about the bio 224, cause on the sheet I have it only shows 2 points for Bio and 2 for Micro, I was like how in the heck am I gonna get enough points? GOOD LAWD! Do you know how many points we need to get in for Spring 08? Is it 19 or 21? I'm going to take Bio 224 in the summer *crossing fingers* and Micro in Fall or Vice Versa! Right now, Hmmm I don't know how many points....I think 7 cause I have all the prereq's except Bio 224 and 251...I took Bio 224...in the Fall last yr..Had to drop. Maybe 8 points...Don't know what my gpa is right now!

Oh yeah, when is deadline for Spring 08? I am planning on taking the NLN in Sept, because I only got a 102 and that means no points from that. So we'll see..I'll just have to get these other classes out the way. What Classes are you gonna be taking?

I only have 224 left, which I am taking this summer. All of your classes need to be completed by Nov. in order to be considered for Spring 08, so that leaves the fall out. The only semester you have left is this summer. I would suggest taking 224 in the 1st session and 251 in the 2nd in order to get them finished. From what I have been told it is pretty much impossible to get into the program without both of these classes. You only need to get a C in both of those classes, so that should be possible.

TCC, *FUNNY MY INITIALS ARE TMC, so to see TC is funny..That's what my dad calls me..LOL* Well guess we'll be pulling out teeth trying to get into the 224 for summer, I'm praying that I will get in...My luck I'm probably the last to Register...Well maybe we'll be in class together. Do you have any idea when they're coming out w/ the new schedule? I've been checking for it online but nothing yet, also I can't find the degree sheets online anymore..Did they get rid of the health part?

I am not sure when CCSN is putting out their schedule and I went to their website to see if I could get onto the prereq/point site and couldn't either. Maybe they are updating it. I take my sciences at NSC, I have found some teachers there that really want you to be successful.

CCSN's schedule comes out April 9th, I'll have to check into why their prereq website isn't working. I also wanna check into NSC...Seems like even though they were having some issues..People seem happy w/ them.

I am happy with them, but I am not going through them for nursing school. I am going to only apply to CCSN. I don't have any chemistry and want to apply asap, if I had to take chemistry I would have to wait another year to apply. Good luck and hopefully we both will get the classes we need for the summer and then get accepted!!!

there is a link on there for Summer classes..they have Bio 224 only, no Micro..so that's gonna suck. BUT, u can apply to the nursing program while you're in the Micro class and I THINK you get points for that. Because I know when I was gonna apply before you could apply if you were in the Bio 223 or 224 class. So it's worth a try..Sucks so far that Micro isn't on the summer schedule. Well Good Luck and thanks for all the input. I want to get in the program as well, I have a opportunity for a job that has benefits and pays well but would affect my schooling, I'd only be able to take night classes, until being accepted. So I dunno what to do. Don't want to get off track for school , but benefits and good money sound good. Keep up the good work..
