CCSF ADN Program Fall 2014

Published

Just found out I'm #76 on the list for CCSF's RN program for Fall 2014.

Anyone else in this lottery? Thoughts? Comments?

Not so sure what I should be thinking/feeling at this moment, lol.

Hey guys! For those of you that planning to go to CCSF and attended the orientation, are you able to register for classes? I think I heard we can register for classes after they turn in the paperwork and I am not sure am I the only one that can't register for classes.

I was able to register already. Go on web4 and check your date to register. I had to go back and forth with admissions and records to get a date.

I think I have to send them a email then. I am not able to register because it said Major restriction, department approval required. Did this happen to you?

No, not at all.

Congratulations on getting in!

I just finished my first semester of nursing school at CCSF. I had similar concerns at first too.

1. The school seemed to be organized. I talked to few friends and my sister who went to different nursing schools (UCSF, CSU east bay) they all said that their program was all over the place as well. So I just stayed on top of it.

2. Commute, I live in the east bay. I was taking bart for the first month or so until I found someone that I can carpool with. So hopefully for those who live far, you find someone to carpool with :) oh and traffic is pain in the butt!!

3. Stairs.. we're all tired going up and down those stairs :)

FYI, first month or so is bootcamp, Lots and lots of lecture almost everyday (Mon-Thurs) until you start your clinicals and test every week. I started recording their lectures since sometimes I can't keep up with in (i was falling asleep) So record the lectures if you can. And also, when they repeat something twice during lectures, its more likely going to be on the exam.

Itsbananas,

Thank you so much for your tips! If you don't mind, I would like to ask a couple questions. I was wondering how do you like the program so far? Where will your clinicals locations be at? How are your stimulation labs and such? Hope to hear from you soon, thanks!

Thank you for all the info!! & congrats on making it past the first semester. How do you like the program? Any other feedback and advice that you can give us is greatly appreciated :) oh and btw, how are the med math exams?

Rn_miadosmommy & mocha,

When I tried adding the NURS courses, it says registration errors for me too. This is odd. I thought its suppose to let us reg.

It should let you register because I know the nursing dept sends admission and records a list of our names so we can register. Try calling them.

that was exactly what I got. I just emailed the department char but no response yet. Maybe I will call them tomorrow.

by the way are we suppose to receive a mail that has all the forms that we need to complete and submit to certified background?

They gave out the instructions for that at orientation.
