Are the Laura Gasparis-Vonfrolio review CD's ENOUGH to pass the exam? After listening to the cd's, I picked up a book of CCRN review questions, and did not know many of the answers. On the cd's, I know LGV says that she is giving all you need to pass the exam, but after doing the review questions, I am wondering if that is really the case.

It helps if you read varied books. There is a lot out there like pass ccrn-the cd is really good for Q n A's, adult ccrn certification review by ann brorsen, and there's also one by kaplan. The exam is really hard so dont underestimate. Goodluck!

Hello

I can say, for myself, I used the Dr Laura Gasparis Vonfrolio DVD's and her Book of Pearls; the PASS CCRN by Dennison (I mostly used the CD with the 2,000 CCRN exam questions and the book as a reference) and audio tapes I had brought from the 2007 NTI (8 audio CD tapes that were G R E A T....I listened to them everywhere: as I went running, walking, at home)

I am a horrible test taker, but in taking the PASS CCRN CD exams I learned how to be a better exam taker example: I learned NEVER EVER to change my answers

Good Luck. Yes, I agree the exam is hard, but I thought the PASS CCRN CD Exam questions harder, if that makes sense.

I just took it. I can say I wish I would have done more review questions instead of just reading and listening to things.

I also had Dr. Laura's hemodynamic dvs's, the Pass CCRN, and I also used pacep.org. What Athena says about the questions on the CD is right on... Good Luck :) You can do it! ~Ivanna:lol2:

I took the exam in 1992 and passed. I made a bad choice of not renewing it. I only listened to LGV cassette tapes and read the book of pearls that LGV handed out if when attended her review course then. So I had to take it again, last Saturday on May 16, 2009 and passed the exam again. The only tools I used this time are her CD's and book of pearls again. I suggest follow her suggestions to the "T" and you will be fine. I had a good night sleep the night before. I wore yellow and red on the day of the exam. I ate a package of beef jerky and took a few swigs of coca cola before taking the exam. It took me 90 minutes to finish the exam. Hope this helps... and good luck...:)

Just passed the exam. Worked on MICU just long enough to have my min clinical hours to sit for the test. Did lots of questions from the "Pass CCRN!" cd rom, watched Laura's dvd's, and did questions from her book, I think it's called "Critical Care Exam" (it's a green book). I don't think that the dvd's alone are enough to pass but they are really really good. I think just hammering out lot's of practice questions is the best strategy. It was a hard test and there were some weird questions on there but it's not as bad as I thought it would be.

how many questions are on the exam and how many do you have to get right to pass? NIUredblack where are you from? I am also in MICU, have the minimum hours to take the test and am using Pass CCRN, Laura Videos, and Critical Care exam review (the green book). what a coincidence!!!!

You have to get 70% correct to pass.

GenRN - Too funny. I'm working in Minnesota currently. You?

GHillbert is correct, it's a 70% which translates to I think 88 questions correct. The test is technically 150 questions but 25 are "experimental" and don't count towards your score. There is no way of knowing which are the experimental questions though. Good luck!

I just attended a 2-day CCRN review by Robin Donahoe Dennison. I was very impressed with her, and I learned a lot. I already have the Pass CCRN! book, but I'm looking to buy a used set of Vonfrolio's DVDs. Yes, I know they are hard to come by, but if by chance anyone is willing to share or sell theirs, please message me :bowingpur
