2014 CCP Nursing Program

Published

I figured I would start this topic to lower my anxiety just a little. I took the health allied test today and I have to wait till next week to get my scores. I really feel like im on pins and needles right now and I know I'll be a nervous wreck when I actually wait for my acceptance. Before I even got started on my journey to be a nurse I came across this website and It really answered a lot of questions about the application process, and was insightful in other areas of nursing that enabled me to think of more questions for answering. what I really love the most was that in previous years ccp applicants supported each other during the nerve wrecking waiting period on getting accepted. that support was so tremendous that a lot of the applicants bonded and became friends. Is there anyone else that has applied for the 2014 CCP program?

@ Danad320

Placement test? What do you mean? Is it for entry to the college or the program?

It took me 3 years to finish my prereqs because I had a different degree and graduated. I went back to CCP because I want to become a nurse. Most people finish their prereqs in 2 years but some can do it 1 year that is if they take 7 classes each on Fall and Spring and 4 classes during Summer

Wheres seminar? I only did 3 parts

I registered for all. I have Monday 8-10, 10:20-12:20, Tuesday 8-9, 9:40-10:40. Wednesday off. Clinicals on Thursday and Friday.

bossyrobi,

Thanks! I got it!

Hi Danad320,

There are not many prereqs to get into the program but I chose to take most of the non nursing courses required to complete the program prior to starting. I was also preparing to meet the requirements of most BSN programs when I finish CCP. I finished all of my non nursing courses in exactly two years.

It should be with the lab. It is a 2 hour class I believe. Click on the classes until you see class type: Seminar

I meant the placement test to get in to ccp or start...I haven't started any prereqs yet and I work full time so I figured I would be taking it slow with the classes and see how much I can handle with work. It might take me alil longer than usual. U believe there is 10 prereqs before nursing school? Not sure if I wanna follow into ccp nursing or somewhere else yet. Any advice?

I also looked up online what prereqs I need but will ccp let me know exactly what ones I do need before I take ones I don't have to? Sorry. I new at all this

I registered for all. I have Monday 8-10, 10:20-12:20, Tuesday 8-9, 9:40-10:40. Wednesday off. Clinicals on Thursday and Friday.

Thanks for your help & info! I registered for all of the right components, I'm super relieved :-)

Jackiebees,

You are welcome!! I am relieved as well, glad I was able to keep my Wednesdays open.

Hi Danad320,

Below is exactly what is required for the program. I pulled it directly from the CCP website for you. I have also included the link in case you want to read through the other information that might be useful on that page.

Here is the link: Nursing | Community College of Philadelphia

No need to be sorry, I hope this helps!!!
