2013 CCP Nursing Program

U.S.A. Pennsylvania

Published

Hello Everyone,

Wanted to get this started for those who have applied to the program this year and want to get to know other applicants. I was accepted into the CCP nursing program for the 2012 fall semester start date. I attended until 6 weeks before the semester ended. Sadly I had to medically withdraw from the program so in order to continue I had to reapply and start over again. I am hoping to get back in this year. I look forward to talking to other people who have applied and get accepted.

Hey folks!

I just got my acceptance letter in the mail yesterday, but there was no mention of this $50 deposit that people have been talking about? Should I call the school or...?

Oh, and! @Cupidsqueen420: Since you enrolled last year as well, I had a question I wanted to ask. I apparently can't send PMs until I've posted about 15 things, so would you be able to get at me through email? My address is [email protected]

Thanks!

I recieved my package last night, looking forward to May 8th and congrats to everyone who got in. :)

Have you guys done the FBI criminal background check yet? For FBI criminal background check, the school will access to the database of 3M Cogent to view our records right? The copy which we will receive through mail is an unofficial one right?

correct!

you have to get titers drawn to ensure you are vaccinated against mmr, hep b, polio, and varicella. If you are not you need to get boosters for those and present the documentation. you also need to get a 2 step ppd test done and get a TDAP, Meningococcal, and Flu vaccine. If you haven't already you will get a form that your doctor has to fill out. You need to have all of this submitted before you start in sept. However some people submitted there's during the first few weeks of class. In order to be assigned to a clinical rotation you have to have your vaccines. The hospitals will not allow you to start without them.

So I guess I will have a lot of things to do as soon as I get the health form from ccp

So I have a question. Do we register ourself for the fall or do we wait for a meeting with someone because on the course search it shows that classes are filling up.... And do we only take nursing 101 classes and that's it?

How do you sign up for clinical??

You can sign up for all your classes now if your curriculum has changed to nursing, unless you have some type of restrictions. To sign up for clinical, make sure you scroll all the way down the page until you see OTS Nursing 101, it's on the same page with all the other nursing courses.

Hi! i just got my acceptance letter in the mail and saw that there is a drug test that you need to take.

I wanted to cut my hair real short for the summer but i dont want to if its going to be a hair test. does anyone know if its hair or urine?

You can do it now or wait until the orientation day. Lecture slots are the same time on monday and tuesday. everyone accepted takes them at the same time, they just split the class in half so it can't fill up. I'm pretty sure the same goes for seminar. Lab is the only portion that if you don't sign up right away you are left with what is available...so you might have to go to class on wednesday just for the hour of lab instead of having it right after lecture on monday or tuesday. Clinical is the last thing on the list, its listed OTS i believe. There are no times or places listed because that doesn't get posted until week 5 in the semester and you have no choice in where you are sent or what time. Typically they are all thurs and fri. times vary from starting at 6am or 7am to ending at 1pm or 2pm.
