I did not order it, but I do have one from another text that I will be using (Tortora). I wonder if the things that are on the website are pretty much what is in the study guide. If you can look in the bookstore I would do that before buying it and compare to what they have on the website.
The class sounds challenging but really interesting. I know it is an added expense, but I am really happy we have our "kits" to do hands on labs.

Has anyone ordered the study guide to accompany the textbook? I was thinking of ordering one today. If you did order it, do you see it as being helpful? tia for any infoKelly

My book hasn't come yet either but I have another one (Tortora) that I am reading in the mean time. If you are near your home school, go to the library to see if they have a copy on reserve or that you can check out. Otherwise, take the syllabus with you and check out any Micro text i your local library to start reading until yours arrives. It will have the same general info. The first unit is an intro to Micro -- history -- so they should all have the same basic info. Do let the instructor know your book is MIA. She may have suggestions too. Good luck.

My fears are confirmed; class starts today and I still have no book. I contacted the vendor and they told me that they mailed the book Jan 8th. I'm very nervous since I'm positive we'll have lots to read once we can acces the class today. Hepefully I'll be able to make it.LTNurse

I decided to order it today. I figure it will be a good study aid when I am away from home and in between jobs, on breaks, etc... lol

Good idea; I don't know why I didn't think about that before. I actually have the same Microbiology an Introduction by Tortora, Funke, Case that I used when I took micro a year and a half ago (I still can't believe I didn't take the lab portion) and I'll probably do the same and start reading it over again until my book arrives.

I actually like it quite a bit. I think the instructor is very involved and responds very quickly to our posts and emails. I have not done the labs yet, but I think this method of home lab is fabulous. After doing virtual science labs, which are useful, it is nice to get my hands on things.
How is it going for you? If you need any help, do not hesitate to ask.
