I just took the CCMC exam today for CM certification. On the website it says you'll get your preliminary result immediately, but I didn't. The notification I got was "In alignment with certification best practices, CCMC is conducting a passing standard study with the CCM exam. A passing standard study is conducted whenever a new exam blueprint is introduced to establish a cut score for passing the exam. The study will allow CCMC to review the impact of the new passing standard based on the exam results prior to releasing the final results." I can't get my result until 10/31/16.
So it seems like they're not releasing results right now. But I can't help thinking this is because I failed. Has anyone else gotten this message and later found out they passed?
I think this is absolutely ridiculous. It needs to say on the website or confirmation e-mail that they are not releasing results at this time. It doesn't say anything except that you get an immediate preliminary result. The person at the testing center didn't know anything about it. I seemed to be the only one there today for this exam. I don't mind waiting a few days or even weeks, but this is 2 1/2 months for a computerized test in 2016. I don't like being a guinea pig without being told.
Does anyone know, is it possible for an LPN to take the CCM exam. I have been a case manager for 6 years now and will eventually go back for my RN but to me there is no rush. I would however like to be certified as a cm. I was a floor nurse for 15 years and cm is changing all the time. I enjoy this side of nursing.

I took the exam in December and passed. I had read in multiple places that the new blueprint for the exam was going live in August and that results wouldn't be given right away. Sorry you guys had to wait!
For those taking upcoming CCM exams, I used CCM Certification Made Easy which is now in it's second edition for the new blueprint. This book was fantastic...I used it, the workbook that goes with it, Quizlet decks, and took the CCMC practice test about a month before I took the test to focus my studying.

People like you are exactly why I hate posting on this site. You can answer a question without being condescending, believe it or not. Where on the website does it say that? I looked about 10 times. I do think that website is hard to find information on, so I may have been looking in a different place that wasn't updated (though the info *should* be updated everywhere, in my opinion). I also re-read the emails I received and none if them say anything about 10-31. I could have applied earlier than you or got a different email for some other reason, it's an imperfect world. I'm so sick of some nurses and their attitudes. Some nurses are so nice and some are scum of the Earth, it's like there's no in between.

I don't think so because you either have to have a 4 year degree or a license that allows independent practice. You can look at the info here: Certification & Renewal | CCMC

Thank you for your words of encouragement. Maybe I need to start thinking about going back if I want my goals to really be obtained.
I took the CCM August 31st. When I realized I wouldn't get results until October I was pretty frustrated. I looked through my emails and didn't find one from CCMC stating there would be a wait. Oh well. I will be taking the ANCC case management exam in a couple of weeks.
I took this exam in August, then from time to time I still check my dashboard account page even though they advised me at the Testing center that it will be until October 31 to know the result. It is kind of a suspense and I feel worried about the result. Some questions asked are about the Methadone, make sure you choose it is an opiod, I chose it as a Narcotic, lol! But there are sure questions that I know I answered correctly, about OASIS that is related to Home Health, and about the Obamacare Act (Healthcare Affordable Act), so I know I have 2 confirmed correct answers versus 1 :) ! But Anyway, good luck to all of us, I am too positive about the result for everyone here!
I also took the exam in August and was expecting to know if I passed right away. I have called with no luck and am checking for results everyday. I don't know if I should be preparing to retake the exam of if I have passed. Very frustrating! Especially with all the money that I have put out and can't be reimbursed until I know if I have passed. This was not clearly communicated prior to me taking the exam and I am not overly happy about it!
I agree this is a ridiculous amount of time to wait I took my exam August 1st. is there a time frame in October or will the exam results be released on the 31st.

I meant the fact that pass or fail we won't find out till Oct 31st is what is unacceptable
