I would like to get your opinion about where it would be better to take A&P from: Rio Salado or CCC Online?
1) Which one doesn't indicate on the transcript that it is an online class?
2) Which one has essay questions on the exams?
3) Which one has the exams proctored offline? Which one has exams entirely online?
4) Which one has the instructor more accessible if you ever have questions about the material?
5) Which one responds more quickly and promptly?
6) Do the instructor respond by email or can you call them by phone to discuss your questions?
7) Which one is cheaper for out of state students?
Thank you all very much for your input!

Don't know about these 2 programs, but I am taking A & P and Chem online thorugh the iowa community colleges consortium.

The cost was about $400 per class. The lecture exams (2) are proctored -- I am going to the public library -- the quizzes and lab exams are not proctored. Lab is done using A.D.A.M and photos and slides online.
(Chem the exams and quizzes are not proctored and lab is done using home products and a simulation software)
The instructor is accessible by email and responds pretty quickly, although we were given a telephone number in case of emergency.
So far I am happy with the course. I believe the transcript, which comes from one of the home Iowa community colleges, doesn't list it as an online course but you should ask. I cleared the course with my school before registering.

I took A&P with CCConline. (I'm now taking Microbiology) The cost is $135.60/credit. All tests and labs are done online. The exams I had were multiple choice. Both of my instructors gave phone numbers to get in touch with them. Neither course will be listed as an online course.

I just finished, today, A&P 1 through EduKan. It was an intensive 6-week course, and everything was online, including tests and labwork (with A.D.A.M.). It was very hard doing it so quickly, a chapter with homework, lab and test every 3 days, but it worked well for me.

what degree are you getting.......also where is this ccc online...thanks
ccc is Community Colleges of Colorado -
I am doing the pre-req's for a BSN (accelerated, 2nd degree). I think CCC is the colorado community college consortium. You can find it through google by typing ccc online.
A lot of the Western states have very developed distance learning programs (out of necessity since the population is spread out!) My guess is they were pioneers in correspondence courses, and are now the leaders in online courses. Even though most of these places do not indicate the course is done online, I would check with the program to which you are applying to make sure they will accept the classes before enrolling. Otherwise you wold have to explain how you did all your coursework in Iowa while living in Massachusetts!! Detailed syllabi/course descriptions are available at the individual sites.

I am taking my 4th & 5th courses with http://www.ccconline.org. I have taken A&P I, Microbiology and Ethics, last semester. I received copy of my transcript and it doesn't state online. I enrolled with Community College of Denver, http://www.ccd.edu. You have to choose home college in Colorado. All exams online, all line online. The Microbiology virtual lab was very cool. This semester I am taking A&P II and Nutrition. In Ethics, all essays but that was understandable. Oh, in Nutrition, she gives fill in the blank as well.

I know this is an old thread, however, since I went to both Rio and transferred my courses over to CCConline, this is my first semester and I can say CCConline has been a better experience for me.
I am taking A&P with CCConline and I took Bio 156 with Rio, The instructors with ccconline have been more detail with the lectures, they have made my course less complicated to learn as oppose to Rio where everything was word to work directly from the text.
The labs at ccconline are also actual labs with live animal parts as oppose to at home labs with rio with no microscope usage, and several at home products that are used instead.
The midterm and final at Rio is proctor and very hard due to too much detail for me it is ccconline hands down

How long from when you applied to CCD and when you enrolled in CCConline? Do you enroll from the CCConline page or through CCD's website? I just applied for CCD, but was hoping I could get a CCConline course soon :)
Thanks!!
