CCBC Spring 2017

Published

Ok so I am taking a big chance hear and gearing up to apply for the RN program for Spring 2017. Its a big chance because I still need Human Anatomy 1 & 2 and microbiology. Im taking two of these classes next fall. My gpa right now is a 3.05 and I am planning on taking my teas at the end of June. Im hoping my extracurricular activities like me doing medical missions trips and my work experience(I work in a hospital) will be looked at when entering. Also I plan on scoring really high on the teas test. Ive been studying my butt off non stop with the teas test book. I know its a slim chance because i haven't finished my sciences yet but I am hopeful. What are everyone else's credentials? scores? gap? if you have them!

Ah you never know. I read it in forum from last spring and somebody stated that she had 3.2 gpa with 76 teas and still didn't get in. So you never know what's in competition.

True. All we can do is hope. My gpa is only a 3.0 so im hoping my TEAS will carry me through.

Yea but funniest thing is Mrs jones told me last spring the lowest gpa they took was 2.65. So I don't even wanna. Trust everybody and just wait for the results.

She told me the same thing too! Yea I feel the same exact way, too many inconsistencies with who gets accepted.

Gwyn from Catonsville calculated my prerequisite GPA and it was 3.3. BUT my GPA on the CAS application is around 2.58 for the sciences and 2.98 for overall!!! I don't remember ever having below a 3.0 GPA in my entire life! There are few classes I repeated. 2 science classes actually. Does that mean they didn't calculate the highest grades of my repeated classes? Does that mean that the classes I retook, including microbiology, was in vain?

They use CAS for transcripts but dont use that GPA because it doesn't take out the original grade of the course you repeated. We are suppose to go by the GPA that Gwyn and Gwen calculate. Mine was lower too so I had emailed her two weeks ago about it.

Whew It's good to know that's not my final GPA. What month should we expect notifications of acceptance

Im assuming mid October. Thats when it looks like past semesters had found out. I really hope it doesn't take that long. I am so anxious

Guys I need help. I filled out cas application but idk if we fill any other application on Simone too? If you guys can tell me that. Thanks

Yeah, you need to fill out the app on simon. Once you sign in to simon your click "Enroll online....." then click "admissions" and click "new"

She said they don't count that. They always count their Ccbc overall gpa for pre req. cas is important to see and manage your pre req and course works to see if you finish all of them. But at the end it's always their overal gpa. Bcz my cas gpa is 2.6 and overal is 3.1 with Ccbc

Oh that's good to hear. So which prerequisites did CCBC use to calculate your overall GPA?

Eng 101, speech 101, art credit, psy 101&103, gen math, bio 220.221.230
