CCBC Spring 2017

Ok so I am taking a big chance hear and gearing up to apply for the RN program for Spring 2017. Its a big chance because I still need Human Anatomy 1 & 2 and microbiology. Im taking two of these classes next fall. My gpa right now is a 3.05 and I am planning on taking my teas at the end of June. Im hoping my extracurricular activities like me doing medical missions trips and my work experience(I work in a hospital) will be looked at when entering. Also I plan on scoring really high on the teas test. Ive been studying my butt off non stop with the teas test book. I know its a slim chance because i haven't finished my sciences yet but I am hopeful. What are everyone else's credentials? scores? gap? if you have them!

English 101, communications 101, an arts and humanities elective. I didnt have communications, but she said that I could substitute another arts and humanities course so she said my philosophy 101 course would work. Im taking nutrition this fall and it says something about chemistry 107 and 108 if you are applying to the ATB program. I already have a bachelors so a lot of my credits transferred in. I would really talk to one of the nursing advisors at the school to make sure you arent missing anything. If you are you should take it in the fall because they do not advise taking any classes other than your nursing classes once you begin the program.

I am pretty sure you need another math course as well. Like a gen ed math.

Thanks a lot!! I'll meet Mrs jones this Tuesday. My gpa is coming to be 2.8 with all this.

Good! Plus you scored advanced on your TEAS with a good reading score. That will definitely help.

Yes my gpa came 3.1 after talking to Mrs jones. I have all As in my pre req except biology. And they don't count bio 110 and they can replace my statistics with my geometry which is also 4 credits and I have A in it. I hope I'll get in for spring.

Looking good! I'm sure you'll end up fine. So what did she say in regards to the CAS GPA? I find it very inaccurate compared to my real GPA.

She said they don't count that. They always count their Ccbc overall gpa for pre req. cas is important to see and manage your pre req and course works to see if you finish all of them. But at the end it's always their overal gpa. Bcz my cas gpa is 2.6 and overal is 3.1 with Ccbc

I am glad you went and talked to her. After speaking with her, it really puts your mind at ease. I hope you get into Catonsville. Did you do well on your TEAS?

Yes I got advanced in teas and 81 in reading.

Im sure you will get in. I am tired of waiting already and we haven't even reached the deadline yet. Ugh!

Ah you never know. I read it in forum from last spring and somebody stated that she had 3.2 gpa with 76 teas and still didn't get in. So you never know what's in competition.
