CCBC Spring 2012

Published

Well, I may as well start a new thread for CCBC's Spring 2012 applicants. :) I hope I get good news this time around. :) Anyone else planing on applying for spring? I know it is early but we can chat a long the way. :) This will be my 3rd time applying. I have applied to Essex twice and now I will be applying to Catonsville. They say 3rd time is a charm, right!

To those that will be applying for the first time, AN is a great place to get info and have some really good support. :) Good Luck everyone! :heartbeat

I think both campuses get about the same amount of applications, but Catonsville has more spots open. So, my guess would be Catonsville. I applied to Essex twice and got rejected twice. If I wasn't accepted this fall for the LPN program at Dundalk, I was going to apply to Catonsville for this Spring. Is your GPA an overall GPA or is it your nursing classes only? They only look at your pre-nursing GPA for consideration.

Hi all! I will be applying to CCBC Spring 12 as well. I am scheduled to take the teas next week and am very nervous.

I took my TEAS last Saturday (got a 90); had to go all the way up to Harrisburg and it almost got cancelled by the flooding. I'm in Micro now and the only other class I need to finish up is ENGL102. I'm curious how many people skipped MATH111 and took 163 because it transfers better for the BSN. I just have stats, chem, and nutrition left to take for the BSN.

Don

I took math 163 becasue math 111 was already filled up. Congrats on your TEAS results.

I don't know if any of you have meet with Gwen Jones, she is a great resource for the CCBC nursing programs. She gave me a profile of students accepted to the Spring 2011 program, here are some highlights, hope it helps. Good luck to everyone.

GPA range 2.79-4.0

Mean GPA 3.41

As far as the TEAS, I am sure you all know you have to get at the very minimum a 70, however, an 80+ will greatly improve your chances. That's what I know.

Appreciate the info you passed along from Gwen Jones. Thanks. Applied for Spring 2012 RN at Essex; awaiting news along w/ others. Sounds like we should be hearing early to mid-November. The wait is nerve-racking! Will be checking here to hear how we all do !! Wish all of you success. :nurse:

Has anyone heard anything yet? I am freaking out. Really hoping letters come this week, can't wait much longer.

The postcard said mid-november. Just a few weeks.

I am checking my SIMON all the time. Hopefully we will all know soon. BTW the Spring 11 group had seat fees posted on the 10th of November.

I was told they are not posting seat fees before letters are sent out this year. Last year the phone was ringing off the hook due to the early Simon posts. Sorry to burst your bubble on that one. However, I was told that selections are complete for Essex program and Catonsville is wrapping up. We should have letters some time this week hopefully - a bit earlier than usual. Cannot wait!!

Oh wow that would be great, but who did you talk to? I called today and they said they were planning on sending letters out the second week in November.

I will keep an eye on the mail anyways.

I hope they did not give me misinfo, but it was definitely someone who works in the SHP office. I'm sure they do not want the phone ringing off the hook by us, the anxiously awaiting bunch, so maybe they are sticking with the mid November story. I was under the impression that they were ahead of schedule this year. I just hope they come earlier rather than later so I can relax and focus.
