CCBC Fall 2018

Published

Anyone applying to ccbc for next fall?

This is really confusing. Highest grade for each pre-req?

I think they were referring to the difference between the CAS gpa (they include repeated courses and the old courses they have replaced) vs RN prerequisite gpa (where they throw out the old grades that repeated courses have replaced). So, for example, if you got a C in micro, then retake it and earn an A, CAS would add in both the C and the A into your gpa score. But CCBC would recalculate your gpa to not include the C, resulting in a higher GPA.

By the way Cun715757, I think you have an excellent shot at getting in! You have a great GPA and a great TEAS score. I wouldn't sweat it!

Thanks for the vote of confidence Pandapants! I really, really hope so. We must all want this really badly if we're already this stressed out about even getting in! I can't wait to see

I'm freaking a bit. Got an email from FSU (my second choose ATB option) that gave me a username for financial aid/scholarship stuff. Has anyone else here applied to FSU?

Yes, FSU is my second choice as well :) FSU sent me the same thing, but you should have a little piece of paper that says if you are an RN-BSN or ATB student, don't pay the fee yet until you hear if you've been accepted into the FSU nursing program in a few weeks. I think it means that you were accepted into the university itself, but not the RN program yet. What was your first choice? My first is Stevenson.

That makes sense. Admittedly I was pretty excited to see this though. My first choice is Towson U. More and more though I'm considering FSU as I get advice from nurse friends. A degree is a degree and they say to do online what I can do online!

Yes, I've heard FSU isn't too hard, just paper heavy. And the tuition is not that expensive. I didn't realize that Stevenson gives CCBC students a discount on tuition and no fees though, which actually made them the most inexpensive option. You start out gong face to face, then eventually it's all online.

Only about 26 days left until we should hear something! The Fall 2017 class received their decisions around March 20th.

I just got a letter in the mail from Frostburg. There's a clause that says I must also be accepted by CCBC, but I got in! And today is my birthday!

Yeah thanks for the information the wait is killing me

Hey, all!

I've applied to the Essex evening/weekend program, with FSU as my ATB option. I received my tentative acceptance into FSU last week, but I am on pins and needles waiting to hear from CCBC. If they send out acceptance emails in the six weeks after the application deadline, we should be hearing back in two weeks! Good luck everyone!

Did FSU only send a letter, or did they send an email as well? Stevenson sent me an email saying that their decision letters will not be sent out until April 21st.
