I wanted to start a thread for those of us who have applied, and are anxious waiting to find out if we got in. I can hardly think of anything else!

Let's talk!

Hello everyone. Late to the group. Just wanted to say I'm an LPN doing the LPN-RN and got into the Allegheny Night program. I am super excited. I will be joining the facebook group and hopefully we can help each other out throughout the semesters.

Specializes in Medical Surgical RN.

So I met with the advisor yesterday to go over my classes, I am in the evening/weekend program at Allegheny campus but my classes start at 4PM and one class starts at 3P. I work Monday-Friday 8A-4:30P and I thought I read somewhere on one of the forums that you don't know your set classes until we meet on Jan 11th (during the orientation day) and it is a random lottery draw of what time classes will start?

Has anyone taken the BIO 110 waiver exam? I want to apply for spring and im finishing my pre-req's now. Id like to avoid having to take bio 110 in the summer.

I took the waiver exam.

How was it? Did you pass? What material was covered?

I don't know if you received any information from biology department, but you may want to email them or look over the master syllabus. All the materials on the syllabus was on the exam, including the metric system and microscope stuff. I studied for about 3 weeks and passed rather easily. There are many practice tests online that you can prepare with. Check out montgomery county cc website. They have review lectures and practice exams that I thought were very helpful.

Ok. I have a question for my evening/weekend friends. I was checking out how my schedule will pan out and took at look at the Spring/Summer/Fall courses that have been offered. When looking at the clinicals for NURS 250 (our final nursing class), I noticed that their earliest time is 12pm start. Does anyone know how they do this course? I know it's only 5 weeks, but I'm looking for information that anyone may have about working around this 12pm start. Do they offer it in summers? Can you extend beyond 5 weeks by starting at a later time in the day to make sure you still get the clinical hours? The reason I'm asking is because I do work full time. I know this isn't going to be a problem for another 2 years, but I need to know what to expect so I can start saving money or planning for the transition now. Any information you may have would be helpful. Hopefully someone knows someone that had the same situation and can give me info on how they did it.

Did you figure this out? I have the same question.
