CCAC Spring 2015 Hopefuls

Hi All!

Just sending out a good luck huzzah to everyone applying for the Spring 2015 cohort at the Community College of Allegheny County.

We can start applying tomorrow and the the deadline is August 15.

I am all done with my pre-reqs and co-reqs, so am excited to get this application process rolling. I am going tomorrow to meet with an advisor to be sure all of my ducks are in a row.

Anyone else out there applying?

Where is this posted at? Their site is messed up, says there reconfiguring it.

I searched through CCAC Central last week and was able to see the classes. I wonder when we will find out where clinicals are? I'm trying to avoid downtown if at all possible!

I am pretty sure if you're in the day program on the north side we will travel downtown.

For the North campus: example of clinical sites for clinical experience include: UPMC Passavant & Passavant Cranberry, UPMC Mercy, Children's Hospital, and UPMC Magee Hospital.

For the Boyce campus: example clinical sites include: Allegheny Valley Hospital, UPMC Magee Women's Hospital, Forbes Hospital, UPMC Shadyside Hospital, UPMC St. Margaret's, Excela Westmoreland, LifeCare Hospitals, and Veteran's Administration Hospital.

This is from their website, although I'm not sure how accurate this is since the page hasn't been updated since Fall 2014 admission... haha

I just got my letter of acceptance on Oct. 15. I am at Boyce day program. I am very nervous but know I can do it. I am going to go crazy until I get a packet. The secretary told me you can't register for classes until you go to orientation.

Im trying to be patient, waiting for this packet. I just think with my bad luck something will go wrong. I don't know if we can pick our classes or how they place us, and from what I gather clinical is a lottery, so I just have to stay patient and plan on being flexible. :)

When were the packets mailed?

We don't know really. All we know is that one person in this conversation thread, I believe in the CalU class, said she received her packet. No one else has yet that we know of. I just figured that since they mailed out one packet, there had to be more people that got theirs too. But so far no one else has yet. It's tough worrying and waiting I know. I'm trying not to call cus her email said that you shouldn't.
