CCAC Spring 2015 Hopefuls

Hi All!

Just sending out a good luck huzzah to everyone applying for the Spring 2015 cohort at the Community College of Allegheny County.

We can start applying tomorrow and the the deadline is August 15.

I am all done with my pre-reqs and co-reqs, so am excited to get this application process rolling. I am going tomorrow to meet with an advisor to be sure all of my ducks are in a row.

Anyone else out there applying?

So I have been trying to figure out roughly what the nursing only schedule will look like for the day program, first semester. Was looking at past semesters and looks like it might be: 1 day in class 4ish hours, 1 day in class 6ish hours and 1 day in a hospital for 8 hours. Does that seem right or does anyone have any additional information? Thanks :)

From looking through the student manual at the nursing 110 and 120 classes I think that schedule would be correct. I really wish they would have more information about it. Hopefully working my job around classes won't be too difficult.

Thanks. I agree, I wish things were a little more clear. I feel sorry for the poor nursing secretary. She would get far less phone calls and emails if things were easier to find out through the website.

Everyone should get a letter sayin you're accepted or not, by the 10th. If you don't get any letter at all, you're suppose to call it email her

I'm so sorry you haven't heard anything! Your GPA is decent so I wouldn't be worried about not getting accepted, although by the end of September I just wanted to know either way. Our responses have to be in by Friday but if the letter got lost somehow they can't hold that against you. Hopefully you hear some good news soon! :)

Oh CCAC. Have to share a little head shake I had today. The acceptance letter we have to return (via fax or snail mail) is printed on yellow paper.... Have you ever tried to fax a yellow paper? It doesn't work very well at all! So I went ahead and gave it a shot yesterday. While the faxed copy is kind of legible, it mostly looks awful. So I went ahead and popped the confirmation letter in the mail just to be safe. Later that day, I got a phone message stating that they had received my fax, but that it was too dark so could I please fax it again... har har har... There is no way to make the fax any lighter since the paper they sent is yellow! I'll call tomorrow to make sure they received the snail mail copy, but I just had to laugh out loud :sarcastic:

Has anyone heard anything back yet? I sent my letter in on Monday. Wondering if I should call to make sure they received it! It makes me worry a little, lol.
