Hello!
This is being created for the CCAC nursing students who have applied to the Fall 2018 semester. I saw one that was created for the Spring 2018 and thought it would be great to connect and share information for those of us that are hoping for this coming Fall.
So, when do you think we will hear back if we got in or not?
What were your TEAS scores?
How many of you have taken the prereqs and supporting classes?
What campus did you choose and why?
Is this your first career or are you looking for a second career?
I'll put my answers in the comments below. I look forward to connecting with you all and am excited to hear about your adventures!
Hey! So I am interested in applying for Spring 2019 (a little late, but still recent enough).
I have a 3.6 cumulative GPA, have health care experience as a home care aide, and got a score of 70% on my TEAS the first time. I received a 76% on my second time, but unfortunately it isn't past the 30-day mark (I did not know of CCAC then), and I do not want to take the test again. It certainly doesn't help with my anxiety 😦 Do I have a chance of getting in? Also, who can I talk to regarding this info? You guys mentioned Amber Reed a lot, if you don't mind giving me her email address. (:

YOU DEFINITELY HAVE A CHANCE OF GETTING IN I ONLY GOT A 68% on mine. I'm starting in August. Have you completed any of your pre-reqs?
Hi, I had the same question. I inquired about this at campus bookstore and was told that the bags are customized for CCAC Nursing Program, and we can't e open bags until 1st day of lab with instructor present to ensure the bags have all necessary supplies.
Yes! This is right. You can open before class, however, if you are missing something, you are not guaranteed to get a replacement without a staff person witnessing it. For example, you open the bag and it is missing IV tubing...if you open it in class with the instructor, you get it right then and there. Honestly, I think it's just a way to make sure everyone has exactly the same tools so when being instructed there are no deviations. I also think this is also to keep everyone at the same pace.

Honestly, your chances can't be predicted because you will be compared to the other people who are also applying at the time. If suddenly a flood of people with a higher GPA and score shows up, your chances are more slim. Amber Reed is the nursing secretary, she is not an advisor. I would recommend emailing one of the nursing advisors. You can find their email addresses in the CCAC directory or just email the nursing program with your question and one will probably answer.
