CC system dropping Co-reqs...

U.S.A. Arizona

I have just downloaded the Spring 2006 CC nursing application and learned that - for applicants for Summer 2006 and beyond - the CNA requirement (prereq), nutrition (FON 241) and Human Pathophysiology (HCC/HCR 240) are no longer required!!! What do you guys think of this?

BTW - I'm still going to take them this fall (already have my CNA) in hopes of getting in Spring 2006.

Calzonan: I'm in the same boat at you...four semesters of pre-req's and now cooling my heels waiting for a seat in the nursing school. I'm taking Patho and my humanities this fall. I figure taking Patho now and getting as much out of it as possible can only help me. I, too, am going to go on to ASU after getting my ADN. Seems a long way off....

Deanna, I"m taking patho and FON this fall too, I figure I might as well get my co-req's finished while I wait and luckily my BS covered Eng102 and my Hum so all I have left is NS. That's the only good part to waiting a semester (or more). Where are you taking patho? I"m going to CGCC in a hybrid class. I found out at the BAnner fellowship info session today, that some of the hospitals actually have RN-BSN classes at the hospital, I'd heard that before but I"m glad the rumor was confirmed. When did you turn in your ap? Where did you apply? Do you know your lottery number? I got a pretty bad one, I'm so disappointed in that.

I'm taking HCR 240AA at MCC. My lottery number is 119 and my app was turned in in June at MCC. Looks good for the Spring. I'd really like to get into MCC with no more than this fall semester wait.

At the Banner info session today did they mention the ASU-Banner program? I'm guessing not because the one you went to today is in association with Gateway. Look at the other thread on Banner Nurse Fellows program. Do you know anything about this program? I looked on ASU's and Banner's websites and nothing's listed. Perhaps its that new?
