It has been a while since I last posted about my acceptance into the program.
Week one of school was based on introductions to the program and each other. We learned about the program and all of its expectations.
We have completed Anatomy, Physiology, Nutrition, and Practical and Vocational concepts.
Currently we are enrolled in Medical Surgical Nursing, Fundamentals of Nursing and Human Growth and Development.
We participated in the school health fair which was really fun. We helped the schools nurses with vision, hearing and dental screenings. At this point in the program my classmates and I feel like a huge family. We are all so excited about getting through this program together, We also want to bridge together.
We've had some pretty tough test (Fluid and electrolytes). In Fundamentals we learn the majority of our nursing skills. Each nursing skill you have to be checked off by your instructor. So far we have been checked off on; VS, Bed-baths, Trach care and suctioning, Head to toe assessment, hand washing, sterile gloving, sterile dressing changes, Catheter insertion and irrigation.
In two weeks we will be starting IV therapy and Pharmacology. Pharmacology has everyone in a state of shock. We all really want to make it through the program.
Next month we also begin our first set of clinical.

I will be applying to start this Fall. I was accepted to Penn Valley, but had cervical surgery 2 weeks after I started the program. Any advice on getting accepted? I have a BS, completed Nutrition, Microbiology, Human Growth and Pathophysiology plus my CNA.
The program has no prerrequisitions. I like you completed my associates degree before applying so those prior classes will help you. The teas test was not terrible. A 60 is the minimum score needed to be accepted. The program was not tough to get into. you really have to be dedicated when you start a program the teachers are wonderful and very supportive. They are their for you education and not your money like some other schools.
