We should all hear something next week.

@NoOrdinaryICU I sent an email to see what the expected time line is. I didn't get a response, but maybe I did not email the correct person. Part of the issue is that our schedule is done in 4 week blocks--I have heard most hospitals use 6 week blocks). I planned September's shift schedule so that I could be available for weekday interviews. My schedule is finalized through October. If you emailed them and got a response, did it say when interviews would be held? Do you know if they are going to let people know about the interviews early next week or is more likely that it will be Friday next week?

Did someone at the school tell you this or are you just guessing since interviews went out 8/22 last year?

I contacted the school and was told invitations will be sent out next week.

@NoOrdinaryICUDid they by any chance mention if interviews would be held virtually? Did they indicate end of the week or beginning of the week? Did they say if interviews would be pushed back? I am just curious because of work scheduling and based on the threads from the last 3 years the interviews were done by the end of September. Sorry for so many questions, figure there is no harm in asking if you if you did find out any of that info.

Yeah.  I got an email last week apologizing for not sending out invites sooner and to stay tuned that it would be happening soon while interviews would be held virtually.  I assumed everyone who applied received that email?

Are most of you guys already scheduled for shifts during September and October? Do your units schedule in 4 week blocks? Do your units require you to work AM shifts for 2 weeks and then PM the next 2? Are you required to work every other weekend? These are just "out of curiosity" type questions. I am always interested in how different places do that type of thing?

Any thoughts on whether charge experience is valued at CWRU? Or for that matter, at other schools?

I love asking questions!

My unit scheduled in 4 week blocks.  Our schedules are done through the beginning of September.  We do not do rotating shifts.  I had interviewed at a few university hospitals that did that and was not a fan so took a job at another that doesn't and like that much better.  We are supposed to work two weekends a month but I will say it is not kept track of and many don't since there are many, like myself, who enjoy working only weekends.  I assume any leadership experience is valued for CRNA school, but I have never heard of many if at all any schools that ask for require it for admission.  They seem to put weight on simply leadership within the unit, whether that is with committees, etc.  Hopefully that helps!
