Good morning future CRNAs! I know we're all eager and awaiting interview letters from CWRU so I wanted to start a forum/thread so we can all keep each other informed.

A little info about myself. I'm currently working in Cleveland. Have 2yrs of ICU experience. GPA 3.6, application submitted in April.

I started a thread yesterday asking if anyone on the forum had applied. I searched for one but somehow missed this post. I posted the one I started in the SRNA section. But I see that some people have gathered over here. Awesome!

Any thoughts about when interview invites will go out? Has anyone gotten an interview invite yet? Does anyone know anything about the timeline of invites?

Wishing everyone the best, we're in this together now ;o)

Here is a link to the topic I started regarding applying to CWRU for 2021 entry in the SRNA sub topic of the forum: I don't mind coming over to this post, I just figured I'd drop the link to my post from yesterday in case anyone shows up there instead of here:

@Reverdy9 Did you apply all over the country or are you living in this area now?

Last years thread said invitations to interview went out 8/22 so should be soon

That’s perfectly fine. ? Just wanted to make sure there’s a forum for open discussion for the anticipated interview process. Good luck to everyone!

I applied to a few Midwest schools mostly and Duke. I have no issue moving except for paying out of state tuition for the first year ?

@Reverdy9 I think that's great! If you move several months after acceptance to the state where the school is located, you probably would only have to pay out of state tuition for the first semester or two. I guess it all depends on where Covid is at around Jan of 2021, and how that state's law perceives a travel nursing assignment, but if you had a residence somewhere in that state you could even accrue a larger amount of money doing a travel assignment if you stayed w/in the state for all of the travel assignments.

Hoping today is the day since last year's notifications of interviews went out 8/22. Maybe not though. Either way, looks like its coming up very soon. Good luck everyone!

My current thought process on all my applications is, I'm not going to overstress about when I hear back. It's not like I can make them reply to me any faster than they can. I'm focusing on bigger things, like preparing for the interviews because I'm speaking them into existence. How are you guys preparing for the clinical questions? I have Marino's and the Anesthesia Secrets book, all interesting, but a lot of info to memorize none the less

Thats a very good mindset to have, and hopefully I can adopt that successfully myself! Most of what I've read on here or other forums is if they do ask clinical questions (only one interview I've done so far has) its usually either tailored to your ICU experience or is a light combo of cardiac/hemodynamics. I've heard others say they've studied CCRN questions and whatnot but I'm unsure if that was helpful in my experience. Trying to make sure I have strong answers to the typical non-clinical based questions doesn't hurt either. Good luck to you!
