thank u so much bb

What do you conclude???

What OTHER s/s present what nursing diagnoses?

LOOK at the WHOLE picture...there's MORE...

The pt has Hx of DM, not just hyperglycemia...the lab value; what else does it tell you along with the s/s???

I would like to know what YOU see OP.

You have posted this already. Here is my response again along the same line:

We are glad to help you, but we will not do your homework for you (this is cheating).

What have you come up with concerning this case study?

What condition is present when there is an extreme elevated glucose, increased/excessive urine output, hypotension , tachycardia, low grade temp, and altered LOC?

Look up diabetic ketoacidosis.

By the rules of the site......

We are happy to help but we need to know what you have discovered by yourself....are you on the right track? What are you not understanding.....I gave you what you needed to answer the questions yourself
What condition is present when there is an extreme elevated glucose, increased/excessive urine output, hypotension , tachycardia, low grade temp, and altered LOC?

Look up diabetic ketoacidosis.

Now tell me what you have found out by looking this up.

I usually put links in but I have found many cannot be opened by the students in Palestine....so do an internet search for what I gave you.

Tell me what your research has taught you and we will discuss it further from there.

Patient is experiencing fruity odor which is indicative of ketone bodies or Kussmaul's Respirations. Uncontrolled DM sounds like Diabetic Ketoacidosis. However, patient is also experiencing tachypnea which means a blowing off of CO2. Excess CO2 is acidic, however, this patient is experiencing fruity odor. Recommend you look at the PaCO2 and CHO3 to determine if there's evidence of metabolic syndrome. What's the patients BUN and Creatinine?

Again, we do not give students all the answers to their questions until we know what they have already done to find the answers themselves, and that doesn't count, "Write it in an email to AN." We need to know so we can help them learn how to learn. Just giving them the answers doesn't help with that.

Stephen has been very nice to you.....he has given you a ton of information to follow. Allnurses is a professional nursing community....our goal is to help students become the best nurse they can be....and that does not include giving answers. As per the Terms of Service...as I already said...
