Hello all!!

I was just curious if anyone applied to CCHS for Fall 2009?! I am anxiously waiting for a letter in the mail, and was wondering if any other applicants have received a letter of acceptance or denial yet!! I'm crossing my fingers I will get in, I had HORRIBLE high school grades but am finishing up my Medical Assisting degree and have straight A's in all of those courses. Hopefully they will take that into consideration!

Also I would love to hear from anyone who attended CCHS - how competitive was it to get in, do they have a waiting list, what GPA you had when you applied. Also i'm very curious about how difficult the school is! Any information is greatly appreciated!!!!

ahh thank you for the update! i didnt get a letter today either I was so bummed. but I am crossing my fingers tomorrow and if it doesn't come, I will be definitely calling Ann, not JOY the rude lady haha. I'm so nervous!!! They told me there were over 500 applicants for only 70 seats. so the chances of me getting in a really really slim to none so I'm expecting a denial letter. I will let you know either way though!

I got my letter today from CCHS!!! So yours should be coming soon! I didn't get into the nursing program, but I did get into pre-nursing, which I was wanting to get into. :)

I got my letter also. I didn't get into the nursing program but I also got into the pre-nursing program- which sucks cause I have already taken anatomy and physiology 1 AND 2. I don't know what to do now. I'm so upset.

I'm sorry you didn't get in to the nursing program. :(

You could keep applying for it, and meantime take required gen ed classes at a community college.

But I am sorry. :(

I also did not get into the Nursing but did get into the Prenursing. I am going to go by tomorrow to ask why I didn't get in and to clarify the whole prenursing avenue. I have no problem going that route if I can do it this summer & fall so I can enter the nursing program in Jan....but I have a feeling that it means you can't starting nursing till next fall which is way to late in the game for me....I can't wait another year. Ugghh - this makes no sense!

I am wait listed for the nursing program... kinda sucks... but guaranteed a spot in January's class. I just really wanted to start classes in August. Oh well...

--- I am still so bummed I didn't get in. I have a meeting with an admissions counselor on thursday to figure everything out and see what I need to do to get in because I'm not willing to do the prenursing because thats another whole year cause you have to take AP1 and 2 and those have to be different semesters. plus I've already taken those courses so I'm not willing to waste the time nor money. I'm just so frustrated!! I want to go to nursing school so badly.....I guess I will see what happens on thursday!

Let me know how that meeting goes! Every time I call it goes straight to VM. I just don't like the fact that if you to PreNursing then you can't start nursing until next Aug. 3 years for this seems a little much if you ask me! I am frustrated too!

The meeting didn't go well. she basically said I wasnt going to be able to get in unless I did prenursing. im moving on to other schools. this is ridiculous, i am so bummed.

I met with her as well. She told me that I should either do prenursing or retake the ACT which I am not doing. I was number 88 out of the 500. So I think I may do prenursing and then apply again for January. If I get in awesome and if not then I am no worse off. Who would have thought that making a 3.4 in high school and a 3.75 with my bachelors wasn't enough?

I definitely think that sounds like an awesome plan for you! way to go , 88 out of 500!! She didnt tell me my number but she told me the same thing- to take my SAT over again. And I said absolutely not haha. I'm not going to apply to CCHS again, im going to try for presby for the spring because I have a lot of rec letters and honors etc... which they will look at but CMC schools wont. If I don't get in i'm giving up and moving on... but best of luck to you!
