Carlisle Regional Medical Center

U.S.A. Pennsylvania

I've been online lately looking up the Carlisle Regional Medical Center. It's suppose to be newly built hospital. Does anyone here live in Carlisle? Does anyone have any info about this hospital and how the nurses fair (getting respect, nurse/patient ratio, pay, etc)?

Thanks:nuke:

I live near Gettysburg and did some of my clinicals for school there. I cannot answer all of your questions.. but it was a very clean, organized facility. The nurses all treated us well (and as a student that was very appreciated), and they seemed to get along well as a rule. I don't know the actual ratio, but they always seemed to be fully/adequately staffed. I believe the pay was $22-23/hr for a new grad a year or 2 ago, so not the highest paid around..but I've always heard ( and experienced) good things about them

I live right down the road practically from the hospital. It is a new facility. As a patient there, the staff seems very friendly, but I dont know from a worker standpoint. Maybe Ill work there someday.:yeah:

In October (or maybe it was November) I went to the SNAP convention and Carlisle Regional was there and they were offering a 10,000 sign on bonus. I am not sure if they still are offering that.

The $10,000 bonus plus the same old nursing job postings that never seem to change on their website makes me think a) they cannot retain the nurses they have or b) they are unable to attract nurses. Anyone know of anyone who works there?

How are the ratios on med/surg? We were living in Chambersburg and moved away, but now we are looking at moving back. What is your opinion on Chbg vs. Carlisle Hospitals? Are wages similar? I sure do miss the weather there. We're in AZ right now and it is HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks!

I just left Carlisle after working there 6 years. I would prefer not to comment in detail in a public forum, but feel free to contact me via email.
